Yesterday I was using Poser ProPack again and was suprised from the ease of use and speed of this program.

That got me thinking about Poser 5. This program is quite slow, there are many times you can't do anything productive because the computer is virtually locked up and P5 crawls along. Now I know that it is nearly impossible to speed up P5 without introducing more bugs, so I won't propose that...
But I think P5 can still help us, lets introduce some fun and rewarding way to use this idle time.

Now that Content Paradise is online CL has all the tools which are needed.

Here it comes...

Advertising.
Yeah, while Poser 5 churns out a firefly render I can look at some ads for old Renderosity MP products. During the time a dynamic hair prop settles on a Poser head, I can stare at images of seductive Vickies with bombastic lips. While P5 tries to load the materials room I can think about a eBook for Poser marketing. Hey, CL can introduce a permanent advertising banner window into Poser 5, wouldn't that be cool?

So community, lets support CL, Renderosity and all the other commercial Poser sites we all love and admire. This small change in Poser 5 will be a big step forward for all of us.

The day they stick a permanent ad banner in Poser5 apart from the CP page I'll throw it out the window.

they could always go the way MS have with Autodownload of the updates, as to the banner ads I was thinking along the lines of what rosity has at the top of the page. Thanks Schlabber :) lol

Or, how about this: as you're rendering an image, a pop-up window will appear, telling you about the latest sale... through Content Paradise naturally. So what if you're watching to make sure the render is coming out correctly? What's more important- your image or the advertising being fed to you? After all, everyone loves pop-up ads! Let's have Poser 5 use even more memory by opening extra browser windows!

Bear in mind that PCs double in speed every 18 months or so, so in about 10 years Poser 5 will actually seem pretty fast! Of course, well be using Poser 8 by then. ;-)

MadYuri, No sweat. a) They would have to make it work so we would have at least 3 or 4 Beta releases as a pre-warning of it's coming, and b) with the advent of these 24 hour sales at RDNA, Daz3D and others, P5 would never get a display refresh up on your screen during a render in time to catch the sale before it ended!!

How about pop-ups? And why would it be limited to Poser-specific stuff? What if every time you selected Don's genitalia about 47 porn-site pop-ups appeared on yr screen?

...and Vicky's cleavage could spawn an online travel brochure about the Grand Canyon. There's also an obvious tie in to a jungle adventure too, but I won't get into that.
