Not to step on any feelings, but I think this serves as a good example of different ways the same photo can be approached. Also, showing this forum is a good resource for people seeking some input from other photographers and an example of a helpful comment. <()>

Nice to see you post something Bill. It has been a while, and you always seem to find some interesting subjects. IMHO the density in this is a bit off. I think adusting the levels, and/or curves to darken the interior would help, but not as much as Niko did because it looses to much detail. This would have been a perfect situation to set up the tripod and make two exposures. One metered for the interior, and one for the exterior. With a bit of digital darkroom magic the final image would have shown both parts of the scene properly instead of comprimising one or the other. Anyway... Just some thoughts :-)

Yes, I haven't been submitting many and in the interest of getting critique as well as giving I selected this submission. Niko did something I would not have considered, good job! I have been spending time on effects and combinations. I'll submit some of those later, both the before and after. Bill

Here is the same image. I create a layer and corrected the color and blended the two with a 53% transparent setting. Then color selected a mask that would define the exterior. created a layer the was the window exterior and set a 29% subtract to get darker foliage. Merged again! Comparing the before and after shows what can be done with simple steps and not alter the original intention
