Wow, I thought this was directly related to Poser. I guess it was sent here to die with other threads that talk negatively about the program. As for Porn and Art. Sure, when it has aesthetic(spelling) value to the vewer than it's art to that person. In my eye I have a limit, and trust me it's hard to hit that limit ;) Tom
I'll tell ya, being involved in the "ah ah" artwork business, there is a huge explosion going on right now for quality poser "oh oh". I make a tidy sum of money every month just selling poser models from my website, but I make a LOT more with my "ah ah pay pay" site. Many millions more people on the internet willing to pay for "oh oh" than poser models, thats for sure. Davo "tsk tsk" rama
I noticed that Turbosquid (aka "Warez R Us") is on the list of CP participants. TURBOSQUID??? To go into business with the kings of warez after slapping all their users with that horrible copy protection system (which some major companies have STOPPED using due to all the problems, I notice)while whining that it was because warez were costing them so much, well - that really of reeks of hypocrisy.
Most of the content paradox reeks of hypocrisy. Partnering with wares and "Daddy's little girls" (Their site not mine, and nothing against that type of site..). I mean if it weren't for being preached to about all this, just for them to turn around and spit in our faces with it. Not to mention, I want my free content and animals Kup promised. sniff ;) Tom
The only real prominent one that comes to mind is that one earlier this year. The "new" character that was basically a triangulated Poser 4 Fem. That whole fiasco disapeared behind the curtain and then the "All's clear" message appeared and never heard about it again. I haven't been there since that whole event. I forget the figure's name, perhaps "Amy" for some reason that comes to mind. I'm sure if I look though I will probably find some other examples. Tom

Curses! I would have ruled the world if it wasn't for those meddling kids!
Oh boy, you really caught me this time - the secret is out. You see, we paid CL a few hundred million dollars to corner the market on Poser porn sites. It's true, in fact I can show you the check we had Ed McMan deliver to Steve just so no one would suspect. I have it all on video in case I ever needed to blackmail anyone.
All part of a big conspiracy to sneak a TOS violation into the Poser community - because we can all imagine how man Content Paradise users will be looking to buy our old domain names ::rolls eyes::
...OR... it could be I forgot to upload the new version of the website when CP went live :)
Nah, that isn't going to be nearly as much fun to get bent out of shape about :)
Oh, while we are discussing my empire - dotPublishing owns something like 30 domains these days, down from a high point of 130 or so, and we made a decent penny off the domain name "land grab" of a few years ago. Lest anyone get all concerned about it we do own daddys-girls.com but we don't have a site there anymore (go ahead and try it) till we can sell the domain. I mention this because the other spelling IS actually a live adult website but it isn't ours - we had a "-".
Obviously I owe CL an apology for the late update and the uproar it seems to be causing as the seas boil and birds fall from the sky. it's all my fault.
You may now return to your regularly scheduled conspiracy theories :)
Note: Of course, there was no adult content ON the Virtualchemy site, and you it wasn't ADVERTISING any adult content, just selling off some domain names. But hey, why let that get in the way of righteous indignation?
Soul, I don't have a problem with "ah ah" sites. Trust me on this :) And best of luck with selling those off, or keeping them if you decide on that. I had just found it ironic that CL was linking to a site that didn't have any content up (at the time) with the exception of the portfolio and selling of domains. If their going live caught you with your knickers in a bunch.. that happens. However, why didn't you have the partnership point to dotPublishing, if I recall that site looks more like a poser related site than alchemy. :) Tom

I posted this in another thread, but it's been largely ignored: {In case no one has noticed, there is a TON of copyrighted material FOR SALE on that site- Star Trek ships, Star Wars models, Peanuts, Calvin & Hobbes, South Park, and more. If the copyright holders ever hear about this, they will serve TurboSquid with cease & desist orders and lawsuits and everything else they can throw at them. And who knows what may happen to the TS' "partner" sites who help move traffic to them and encourage people to buy the copyrighted stuff from TS.} Hey, if CL wants to encourage the purchasing of Star Trek ships from TurboSquid, (and all the legal proceedings from Paramount), then more power to them. Frankly, I don't think this is a good business decision, but, hey, what part of the Poser 5 development *has* been a good business decision?Well, dotPublishing is an "umbrella" corporation. It isn't an end point in and of itself. Besides, its not to cool a name for most things :) Virtualchemy, Inc. is the "brand" name we are using for the animation studio and sales for Poser and other systems. An "as yet undisclosed" name is our brand for game development ont he PC, Xbox and related. We have another "Undisclosed" name (till we find a domain name we like) taking over the adult stuff. No, we don't have any content there yet, we are working on some items but don't want to put them out till they are ready - as the text says we don't want to ship exactly what we use internally so we are making changes. Add to that that we are swamped with a client contract at the moment and it gets crazier :) It's all pretty complex but our lawyer says we are just fine doing it and as a programmer I >like< seperating things into object trees :)
You may now return to your regularly scheduled conspiracy theories :)<<< Ah, damn, soulhuntre! I was already outfitting an entire army of "ah ah Crusaders" to battle for the freedom to wallow in unlimited "oh oh." Damn, damn, damn! Now what the hell am I going to do with all those banners and flags? And the pikes? The axes? And the armor!? You have any idea what a decent suit of armor costs nowadays!? And those archers! I still have to pay for them ya know! No Crusade. No "oh oh." What a lousy way to end a week. Bugger! Take care and be well. ;-) casamerica
"You have any idea what a decent suit of armor costs nowadays!?" $1.99 at Daz? :)<<< Hey! Hey! I don't buy that off-the-rack stuff for my "oh oh ah ah" Crusaders! Strictly private label, fashionable armor for my "oh oh" warriors. ;-) Take care and be well. casamerica P.S. - As my ever vigilant wife can verify, the above statement does not take into account that I gladly sacrificed the life of one credit card for my Platinum Club membership and a truck full of Daz items.

Check it out, I'm serious here. One of their partners websites has an interesting portfolio of work, check it out for yourself. http://www.virtualchemy.com/content/portfolio/index.html They say clients, but (always a but) on the home page is a link to adult sites/domains they are selling off. So the clients in this case is themselves. Pretty cool huh? Wonder what they have to offer Content Paradox. Tom
