I don't know what IMs transpired. So I can't comment on what I haven't seen. I hesitate to make a comment here because it seems people might be over-reactive. Having looked at Dream Girl and the comments and reply from lordwarlock, it's my (who really cares) opinion that everyone was a little bit out of line. When I feel I have a constructive comment, I offer it as gently as I can. Constructive means, for example, try this or try that. Or, Lighten, darken, crop this way or that way, or try changing the color balance a bit to the magenta. Something concrete. If one feels a piece of art lacks any redeeming value at all, I'd suggest not saying anything. My personal opinion is that the author didn't receive constructive criticism from all who commented. I would also say the author lashed out...perhaps understandably. I don't know because I wasn't wearing anyone's shoes that day but my own. Finally, I looked over his gallery and would have to say he has some expertise/ability in PS.
If you feel you are having problems with another member the first thing you should do is IM a moderator or an administrator.... Posting his IM's or emails to you in this forum will not be tolerated...this is not the place to solve your greivances with another member. I will be looking into this for you and will get back to you privately on this matter.

Michelle is 100% correct here. Please bring issues like this to us via IM or E-mail.
You can't call it work if you love

Posting IMs or e-mails would be lame, and IMO brings the poster down to the level of the person they are complaining about. I do think that one should keep in mind that this is a public forum, and as a result you are always going to get people who like to try to make there work look better by ripping other people's work apart. This is not constructive criticism, it is just the way some people are.
If you are really interested in getting in-depth critiques of your work, try posting some images here in this forum. You will find a much better group of people who will offer far more insight than what you can get in the gallery.
Oh, and BTW... Anyone with a basic knowledge of Photoshop can become Adobe Certified if they are willing to shell out the bucks. That does not mean they are an expert by any means. In fact, I would be willing to bet that any reasonably intelligent person who has read the Photoshop manual once and never opened the program could pass the test. It is very simple, very basic, and is pretty much meaningless.
This might also again be a fine time to reiterate how important it is to critique in a responsible manner. People do not get upset about critiques that are done properly in a well thought out and intelligent way. Telling someone their image sucks or leaving a smartass comment is not the way to critique. And this sort of baloney could easily be avoided if people would just think before they post....... Enough said......... :~/

hmmm- may I just say- I contacted Lordwarlock when he originally posted his dreamgirl, who I do believe is his wife- he said he had posted the original photo instead of the edited & enhanced one he had meant to post. I think he was grateful that someone let him know that he may want to check it before he got any more viewings & he even stated in the comments that the first photo was not the one he had intended- Haven't we all at one time or another, posted too quickly & worried that we might have chosen the wrong one? I always like to check myself after posting to make sure the image under the thumb is the one I had intended. And let us keep that in mind- instead of leaving a derogatory remark, also the photo may be of a loved one.

CRITICISM (n)1.THE ACT OF CRITICIZING,ESP. ADVERBLY: CENSURE. 2.(a) THE JUDGMENT OF A CRITIC. B. A REVIEW EXPRESSING SUCH JUDGEMENTS.
Hello All, This is my first post here and I hope it's welcomed.
WHAT EVER HAPPNED TO GOOD CRITICISM???
Is not renderosity a place where you come to upload your work for all to see in peace and have some good CRITICISM
applyed to your post?
Why does one member (lordwarlock) think he's above all.
I went to his "DREAM GIRL" post in the photography section and gave my comment, He returns the favor by attacking my weakest work, But thats cool thats his point of view. But when one starts attacking by Instant messages so others can't see, then we know this person is a little more hurt than what we assumed (and thats harrasment in some states is'nt it??? :) ) .
He attacks everyone that leaves a post on any of his works, is this the way renderosity works?
I would love to post all the e-mails and Instant messages this nut bag has left but I'm not sure if it is allowed in the forum.?.?.?
I would love it if you guys took a look at his work and see for yourself the way he attacks others and I will start to post his e-mails here.
One other thing keep in mind that he claims to be ADOBE CERTIFIED and a PHOTOSHOP and ART EDUCATOR!!! Funny Huh?!
