If there is such a thing as writers block for brycers... I got it. I spent a good chunk of time making the model you see in the foreground and now i want to show it off in a big spectacular scene but I dont know where to go from here. I tired adding other models to the image but nothing seemed to fit. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Looks damn cool. What is the function/purpose?

How about a futuristic city? The "feet" would look nice on the top of a building. Or you could build a space station orbiting a planet. Nice model by the way.

well the function is coolness. That is as much as i know. I figured they would be just a 1-2 person transport but it seems to big for that. so im not really sure.

Maybe they're searching for some thing. Like giant metal detectors scanning for a possible mining site. Looks great so far.

Use your model as the foreground and the background being a space station or planet rings. Use a POV that gives it SIZE. Great Model!

Models look great. Looks like equipment for a mining operation. Could see this stuff on an asteroid orbiting a gas giant. You could do 2 things. 1. Take a break and do something else. 2. Check out sci fi picture sites, might jog something. Check out screen shots to these games ORB, Earth and Beyond, Eve. When I make my pictures, its idea first and models second.

Could be a player-pod of some game taking place in a big arena. Two teams of different coloured ships, using the pick-up thingy you've got going as some part of the game. You could certainly make it dramatic, and it would be a challenge!

Excellent model. Could it be a lifting machine of some kind? Either in an open-dig mine, or somewhere else. But then you could lose the middle leg. Put it on a civilisation-less planet, with the open mine, add a dusty scratched texture, give the planet a dying sun...

Ok well im going for a mining machine. I put in a planetary resolution terrain with a nice fractal which is working well... im trying to find just the right texture though. I think this will work. THanks for the ideas

I imagine an otherworld sea with the landing platforms at surface level. These landing platforms would serve both as a surface docking bay and entrance to a vast undersea installation.

Ok... well here is a mini render of the final render. Its going to have depth of feild as well. visit my site 24 hours from now to see the final image. Thanks for all your help. And i think im going to make another one with an ocean theme like nuski suggested.

Or they could be in orbit around a really kewl planet.

The model is of high quality, but the terrain under it looks a little flat. Take a look at http://www.bryceanworlds.com/pages/tips_tricks.html I saw it in a thread and it looks really cool.

Hmmm, the first thing I thought of was a self-propelling mixer making cookie dough. I think I should go have dinner. Very cool model, you will probably find lots of neat uses for it. Lin

LOL... they look like futuristic window washers to me. :c) Pretty cool stuff though.

Paul, As the small space armada traversed into The Nebula of Dreams, the hulls of the ships began to glow slightly. This was normal as it was caused by the interaction of the hulls with interstellar gases and created a slight phosphorescent birofingance(sp?) across the forward area of the ships ... something like that? - TJ
