I think he does great work. I do have a roblem though. The wave hair that he has. I downloaded it and all but I can't get it to show up in poser. I see it in the library and even see the dials to work with it but no hair. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do? Do I need to fix something? Please help.

Koz's wave hair is transparency mapped. You will see it as sort of a ghost in the document window. Which version of Poser are you using? (By turning off the transparency you can see it to adjust the dials).

I am useing poser 4 pro pack. The thing is, I don't even see the ghost in the window. It just doesn't show a hint of the hair.

Try loading a figure first. Some hair won't load unless there is a figure loaded.

I tryed rendering, and I had a figure loaded. It still don't work. For all I know I got the stuff in the wrong files though. Could someone give me a rundown of what I need to do to get the stuff in the right files? I use a pc. A step by step of what to do from the unziping to the end would be great. Thx

Here is Geep's installaiton photo that might help. Also on a side note I alway unzip to a seperate folder first then manualy move the files . This save countless hours of hunting for that new file and stuff being installed all over my hard drive and no were near my poser folder.

Koz's geometry goes in different folders and, dammme, I can't remember where the Wave hair goes. I had a devil of a time putting it in the right geometry folder. It's either Hair or Koz Hair or Koz's Hair. Shoot. The error that comes up-- once everything else is in the right place and you load the hair from the hr2 not the MAT-- should tell you what folder it's looking for the hair in-- that's the folder to put it in. Ummm, well thx Emily. LOL, I just wish I new what it was you was said. Could you dumb it down a bit for me? I am a bit slow. Thx

tasquah ( ) posted Sat, 16 November 2002 at 8:12 PM

:Runtime:Geometries:Koz'sHair:WaveHair.obj

you can open up a HR2 file in a text editor and you will see that its looking for the WaveHair.OBJ file in "Koz'sHair" folder . So browse here
C:Program FilesMetacreationsPoser 4RuntimeGeometriesKoz'sHair see if you find the "WaveHair.OBJ" if it isnt there open up the original zip file and hand move it in.

looksgood ( ) posted Sat, 16 November 2002 at 8:59 PM

Ok, I'll try one more thing and then thats it. Mabey I just have to adjust the transparancy. How to you turn the transparancy off? Cause I can't even see the little dots on the screen.

queri ( ) posted Sat, 16 November 2002 at 9:23 PM

Are you loading the hr2 from Hair first? You can't load a MAT from Pose first and get anything. Then, if you are doing that, go to your Face camera and you should be able to see the dots on the hair clearer. If they are there. Emily Sorry to be too obtuse at first. Do check in Geometries to make sure that the WaveHair.Obj is in Koz'sHair [spelled exactly] folder. [I never open up cr2 or hr2, it's a phobia.] but Tasquah is right. Next to the Pony tail this was the toughest of Koz's hair to put away properly and the most beautiful on. Of course. We'll get it right.

looksgood ( ) posted Sat, 16 November 2002 at 10:34 PM

Well, I did that too. I don't know what is wrong. I just can't for the life of me seem to get it to show up. By the way, I am still very new to poser, so I don't really know what all these obj and rsr and other things realy are. Sry to make you baby handle me, but I am still a noob.

Thanks to everyone here though. You have all proved that this is the place to come when you need help from those that know more than you. Thank you all.

queri ( ) posted Sun, 17 November 2002 at 12:37 AM

I wondered. I had one download of Wave hair from one of the mirrors that never did work, but then later-- months later-- got another download and it worked. Good news! Emily

How do you turn off the tranparency? I guess you turn it on again after? I know...it is a dumb question.

"How do you turn off the tranparency? I guess you turn it on again after? I know...it is a dumb question." Render menu, Materials option and then select the hair from the materials list in the dialog box. There are two sliders which control Min and Max Transparency. Set them to zero.
