Subject: need a good splash/ripple water tutorial Help!!

does anyone know of an "alive" link to a tut. to make a splash and ripple in the water when something hits it??

you should have a ripple.

The same technique should also apply to creating a splash. You could also use an object for the splash affect. Hope it helps, TT.

wow - your so kind to help me like this - I actually can animate the ripple but cant get it to look realistic with the terrain method - i WAS ON THE RIGHT TRACK DOING LIKE YOU SAID ABOVE, BUT IT LOOKS TOO "PERFECT" YA KNOW HOW DID YOUR COME OUT SO WATERY/SLOSHY LOOKING? ROCH222

I selected 512-ultra fine resolution in the terrain editor. The water material was Caribbean resort.

Also used soften tool on the image after applying it to the terrain.
