This is an image I took back on September 9th while showing my wife's German relatives our Capital. Alpha said in an earlier post about, "As our country (The USA) is on the brink of a war that few people understand, I think it is important that we all spend the time to decide if this is something we really want." As our media and government blur the meaning of war, so are the men and women that serve in them. Blurred is the monument as is the reasons that our leaders lead us into war. To all of those that have served, especially those of my friends and my brother who served in Viet Nam, From the bottom of my heart, Thank You. For you are the true heroes of my country. You gave without thanks, but you served with Honor. Again I say, Thank You. Magick Michael aka zhounder

There are 6 images in this short series, some are OK, all have meaning to me. Perhaps I will do more with the other images that have yet to be edited for this series. Note: I have not yet created a gallery for this series. However, these images can be found here: http://www.zhounder.com/images/K1.jpg http://www.zhounder.com/images/K2.jpg http://www.zhounder.com/images/K3.jpg http://www.zhounder.com/images/K4.jpg http://www.zhounder.com/images/K5.jpg http://www.zhounder.com/images/K6.jpg To quote the old song, "WAR! What is it good for?" Magick Michael aka zhounder

Those are some really nice photographs. I suspect my favorite is yours....K1. And the statue looks perfect. I've had trouble at times trying to get the tones of bronze statues. Unless a person is somehow devoid of a heart (or is an enemy of the US), I can't imagine how one could face that wall and not have to fight (double entendre intended) back a tear or two. Thanks for sharing, Michael.
