Subject: Any Thoughts on www.poserstyle.com

Hey all, I've been cruising around the poserstyle site for a while now, flirting with the idea of becoming a member...some of the textures in there look decent...some of the stuff look to be worth the download...I would however like some feedback from people who are poserstyle members: is it worth the 30$ for a half-year membership?Thanx...

Cookienose ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 1:20 PM

It is more than worth it. You get an incredible amount of high-quality items for the price it would cost for just one product elsewhere. I've been incredibly happy with my membership there.

SAMS3D ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 1:23 PM

My answer......YES, YES, YES....Sharen

SAMS3D ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 1:23 PM

My second answer.......WORTH IT ! WORTH IT! WORTH IT! Sharen

dialyn ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 1:29 PM

I'll add my voice to the choir....definitely worth it. You'll get your money back in the first week if you are a collector of models, clothes, and poses. :) It's very reasonable for what you get access to.

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 1:51 PM

Worth it .. There are some of my favorite clothes there and that is just the tip of the iceberg

MadYuri ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 1:58 PM

Yep, more than worth it. ;)

MachineClaw ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 2:44 PM

Does Poserstyle offer more than they show in the preview section? I've been thinking of getting a membership though it's hard to tell what the value of the site is without information. Their FAQ doesn't state if the items on their site are for commercial use either. Anybody have more information??? (I'll send an email to them with the same questions also).

nikitacreed ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 2:50 PM

WORTH EVERY FRIGGIN PENNY! I love Posestyle. ;o)

nikitacreed ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 2:53 PM

Yes...everything is allowed to be used commercially. There are 54 items in the preview section with new items added once a week. More than plenty for the price they are asking.

atthisstage ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 2:53 PM

I just joined this morning, and happily downloaded a ton of useful stuff. Definitely, worth it.

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 2:55 PM

So, I'm kinda confused. Now, if you could manage a bit of clarity... Is it worth it? Message671414.jpg

ookami ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 2:56 PM

I'll give you the good and the bad. Good - Like Poserworld, they have a great quantity of some really nice quality items. They also take requests and do some great work! Bad - Like Poserworld, sometimes quality is sacrifices for quantity. The quality of the texture mapping and some of the fitting is a little ackward. Conclusion: DEFINATELY worth the price. One really nice thing about Poserworld is the variety of things you get. From clothes, to textures for Mike/Vicki/Steph... to Pose and Expression construction kits.... to environments. I HIGHLY recommend this. The 4 best values in Poser Land, in no particular order: 1) BBay Club - can't bet this price for the sheer amount of cool stuff made by Traveler 2) DAZ3D Platinum Club - Incredible value with the $1.99 professionally created items plus 30% DAZ stuff 3) Poserworld subscription - HUGE variety of high quality clothing and items. Plus he takes requests and supports his stuff! 4) Poserstyle - Again... huge variety, from poses to textures to clothing and lots more. Great bang for the buck! That's my 2 cents!

sturkwurk ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 3:17 PM

Just a quick correction for the above note. BBay Club, became the Props Club a long time ago and is no longer associated with Bbay. (And it's an awesome value) Yes, PoserStyle is worth it, many, many times. Doug Sturk

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

sparrowheart ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 4:46 PM

I think PoserStyle is one of the best bargains out there for Poser people. I won't say much here, as it has all been said by the others, but I have never for a minute regretted the price of my membership. PoserStyle is awesome. Kimberly

Moonbiter ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 4:54 PM

My first six months runs out tommorrow and needless to say on Friday, I'll be joining back up. Poserworld is IMO the best deal out there, especially if you like to do Fantasy or scifi renders. I use a lot of the items their on a regular bases and I really like the Fem Fatale morphs for Stephanie. You definetly won't regret joining up.

MadYuri ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 5:12 PM

@ Moonbiter:
Better rejoin before the time is up. This way the second 6 month are $22.50 and not $30 again.

FyreSpiryt ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 5:14 PM

If you don't have a subscription to PoserWorld, I would get that before a subscription to PoserStyle. They have more and the subscription is (I think) less (per month) for even higher quality. However, if you do have PoserWorld, PoserStyle is also very good. The expression and character construction sets alone have been useful enough for me to justify the subscription.

Crescent ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 5:40 PM

Oh, yes. When I heard Joe LeGecko was starting the site (he had some beautiful, free textures available previously) with thip and WHWhitney, I kept haunting the site until sign-ups were available. I don't think I was the first sign-up, but I was close.

AprilYSH ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 7:06 PM

best spent $30 around. :) ookami (or anyone else that can answer) -- about bbay club, if you join do you have access to past items?

I tried to find out if they would burn to CD all the previous releases, but no one answered me back. I am on dial-up so downloading all that stuff would take forever. Anyone know if they have a CD burning service like Daz?

AprilYSH ( ) posted Tue, 19 November 2002 at 10:32 PM

what, bbay club and trav's club are separate? please explain? :)

Ok... after reading all of these posts, I signed up at PoserStyle today, and let me tell you, I'm glad I did:)

JetM ( ) posted Wed, 20 November 2002 at 11:25 PM

AprilYSH, Travler's props club used to be the BBay props club. Used to be you had one week to download the prop--similar to DAZ freebie--then it was gone. Now he leaves a few weeks' links so you can catch up. You don't have access to all the history. Go to www.morphworld30.com for more information. BBay does have the pose club, which is a set of 10 themed poses every week. A pretty good value for $15 if you like collecting poses. The props club is definitely worth it. Trav's good good quality stuff. I actually just re-signed up with the pose club lately. Again, depends if you like pose sets. Digiport does a nice job with them. PoserStyle? DAZ P Club? Poserworld? Oh yeah!

ToolmakerSteve ( ) posted Thu, 21 November 2002 at 1:14 AM

I had previously looked at poserstyle, and wandered away unimpressed. After reading the above posts, I went back, and looked again. I had missed that tiny ":next" button near the top of the "Preview" section. Now I can see all their previews, so I signed up :) P.S., I sent them e-mail asking them to make that button BIGGER !!

ToolmakerSteve ( ) posted Thu, 21 November 2002 at 1:15 AM

Oh, and I also recommend "PoserWorld" subscription as well.

AprilYSH ( ) posted Thu, 21 November 2002 at 1:25 AM

thanks for the info JetM :)
