ho ho but I never saw that right? that looks great ICM. John Penn fear not cos if I was going to interfer i'd have suggested to you a mirror and cobwebs (you ever see an attic without one?)- my finished version wil have all these cliches and more. An attic is an attic is an attic- they all have certain things like hatstands old books tea chests and of course toyboxes. so be it but maybe what we are trying to suggest is somthing atmospheric or surreal in connection with the box being the central focus. love the pic ICM how weird its got so much that'sgoing on in my pic but I suppose if we were all to do a pic on heaven or hell or syuch we'd have so may coincidental elements. Still spooky though maybe ideal subject for a challenge?
My intent for this one is to figure out how to create layers of dust and dust bunnies, a lighting flare in the window(without the traditional lensflare effect)maybe post. and a few more items as stated by imanwillie. Also a way to disperse the cobweb a little without losing it. I tried different color levels and varied transparencies, that one will be a project in itself. If anyone knows of a tut on webworks let me know. Thanks for all your comments! ICM
what about the streaming light tutorial on the bryce disk that could give some great dispersion through cobwebs and dust- I've had this in mind when i've been doing my image- it might rquire two renders though - one for cobweb one for ther rest with an overlay in photoshop or something! oh and don't forget the obligatory "old tea set"
hehe, I was just looking at my virtual "attic" of items. Found a teapot. :) an old chair, an old radiator. I tried streaming light, at this point I already have quite a few radiosity spheres. when I ran the rads and streaming...I couldn't tell if it was even going to start. LOL I'll have to reconfigure the entire lighting set up.

re streaming light yep that is indeed a problem with the streaming light effect it can take minutes even to see the preview in the nanopreview or the lighting effects but the alternative is to wait hours for a fast render.in my grouprender thing there is streaming light BUT it I disabled it sos I could send an inkling of what it is going to look like. I think I mentioned this - i did set it to render but it got interrupted by my indexer halfway through- it was going to take all nigtht even at fast render albeit with aa on. However the streaming light effect is spectacular though undeniably fiddly and expensive on the old render tiempo.
btw check out this link for an insight to why we would come up with similarities in work when presented with a suggestion or we think of a theme(how many faeries were put in for this months challenge. this guy is amazing, but he also explains all his mind tricks!!!!
