I've just posted a bigger version in my gallery - currently being hammered in the viewing stakes by Rohi's Bryceland X ;))) - so I'm putting it here to in case anyone has any comments. The original is 3640 x 2800. Set-up took around 10 hrs, render 4hrs and postwork 2hrs, making it the longest time I've ever spent on a Bryce image! (not counting render time) Postwork in Photopaint9 (just the guy's hair and some of the splash, really). The water and bottom part of the splash is layered transparent terrains, and the fish, bait etc. use pretty much the same procedural texture. The fish is a single sphere, moulded in C4D and containing a few ellipses. The harbour flagstones is a JPG map, but the moss / slimy stuff is procedural. Hope you like. Feedback welcome.

Thanks all for commenting. Rayraz - no, this isn't my challenge entry, although I suppose it would qualify. I posted an entry a while back and I'll stick with that :)

Very Cooool image. Did you model the fisherman? Doesn't distract from the image, but there's something about the arch/ankle area that seems out of step (so to speak...) Great imagination and ability to realize it in an image. best, hewsan

catlin_mc ( ) posted Wed, 20 November 2002 at 8:11 AM

Great image tuttle, me likes it lots. I haven't seen any of your work that I didn't like.....OH NO, me thinks you've got a fan. (giggle) :) Catlin

ace tuttle!! ace!! and I like the feet ;-}

tuttle ( ) posted Wed, 20 November 2002 at 9:46 AM

"...OH NO, me thinks you've got a fan..." Cool! I'll send you a signed t-shirt and a cup with my face on it. On second thoughts, that's a bad idea... ;) hewsan - I did the feet that way just because Jeremy is so heavy he'd need big ankles to support his weight. That's why he likes fishing - he doesn't have to move around too much. I modelled him from Michael in Poser 4, with magnets. Thanks everyone for the comments :)

As for as the problem with the ankles. Star Trek to the contrary... I don't think it's likely that all humanoid (but not human) life would be anatomically indistiguishable from Earth people except for blue skin or the odd wrinkle on the forehead or bridge of the nose. Great pic, tuttle!

Body conformity is directly related to gravity, heavy g's would produce big boned, stout humanoids, and light g's taller, slender humanoids, that is unless the laws of physics don't apply to their dimension...=)...or not..=P
