Subject: Calling all Poser/Lifeforms wizard's!!! Help!

Spanfarkle ( ) posted Tue, 11 April 2000 at 10:25 AM ยท edited Mon, 28 October 2024 at 5:27 AM

I recently downloaded the Poser 4 Mac update from Metacreations website and have had problems importing BVH files created in Lifeforms 3.5. The model ends up looking severely distorted. Without the update eveything works fine. Am I missing a step or is this a software bug? Any suggestions are welcome.

Been having the same problem ! So I called Credo and they are now aware of the problem and are working on a fix/work around. Its totally a P4.0.2 (update) problem.

Just gat a note from Credo..... "We've discovered a change in the BVH file format on Poser with the 4.0.2 release. You can see this change for yourself if you open a new Poser BVH in a text editor. You'll see that there are now a lot of blank spaces between lines, which weren't there in the old BVH files. Once we removed the spaces in the text editor, saved the file, and imported it into Poser, everything was fine. We're working on building a new plugin that will correctly read the altered BVH files. If you wanted a quick work-around in the meantime, you could open the BVH files in a text editor and remove the blank spaces yourself, but it's a bit labour-intensive. However, our developers have put this on high priority, and hope to have a solution as soon as possible. I'll let you know as soon as we get either a finished solution, or a time estimate on how long it will be." Hope this makes the fustration a reality and not a "what the !@!$#! did I do wrong.
