Hey everyone, I was owndering if anyone else out there has had this problem with the Daz eagle? I have the eagle and the expansion pak for it, but when I apply one of the textures to the eagle form, it throws the texture all off, like its been applied 'crooked' or something. I have installed the programs as they per the read-me's, but still no luck. I also got the update for the product from daz for the pro pack. I'm using a 1.4 Ghz comp, 512 MB ram, 32MB video card, and a WinXP platform with loads of spare resources. Does anyone have any idea whats going on??? Thanks!

Looks like you're applying the Peregine texture to the Eagle figure. I think you need to apply a MOR file (should be in your Poses folder) which would convert the Eagle to a much smaller Peregine Falcon. I'm not totally sure but this is what I've worked out from the Daz site as I've been eyeing these beauties for a while (have been waiting for the expansion pack to go on special - wish it would come to the Platinum Club).

You have the wrong eagle loaded. You are using the original eagle. The big wing eagle in the expansion pack has been remapped. You need the Eagle-BW character in the DAZ animals library.

Load the model from your figures file.......Birds, then select either EXP1-Buteo or EXP1-Falconid. You do not apply the texture to the eagle. I am using Poser4 with the ProPac but I am reasonably sure it would be the same in just Poser4? Hope this helps. Genny

Follow Genny's instructions and the textures can by changed via MAT file in the pose directory. The expansion pak uses a remapped version of the eagle, which is different from the original. That's why the textures don't fit.

Hmm, well when I reloaded all of the files, I dont have a 'Birds' figure file in my library. The only thing I have as far as bird type figures is the original daz eagle. As far as the expansion goes, it hasnt added a birds figure either, so Im wondering if I got a bunk file? I'm using the same exact setup as genny, so I dunno whats going on...

Hi spyder, go back to Daz, and on the page that sells the Expansion Pack, scroll down and there is an update for the pack for users of ProPac. I bet this is what you are missing! (: Since I loaded the Expansion Pack and the update imediately after I really don't know if I was missing the "Birds" files prior to the installation, but it is worth a try.........and the update, as usual, if Free. Take care and I hope it works for you. Genny

heyas; the birds isn't a figure file, it is a library itself. that is, it should be under librariescharacter, and it should be a whole poser drawer by itself. is that what you meant? if you have trouble working your exp, check out the exp pages at 3dmenagerie. they have more details than the daz stite does.

Ok, I threw caution to the wind and got the BW Eagle and falconry gear stuff and sure enough it works like a charm! It loads all of the textures like they belong. Thanks for the help everybody, its nice knowing no matter what kind of stupid question I have, theres someone out there that doesn't mind helping out!

heyas; yeah, well, don't use the falcon/hawk/kite textures on the plain eagle; they won't be scientifically accurate! :)
