I have been working on some Japanese "set dressing" and will be putting them up here. After a while I will have to remove them as my bandwidth gets kinda exspenisve, and I also have no desire to make Jack's life any worse than usual. This first one will be up later tonight - I have to make it a OBJ, and then turn it into a poser prop. I still suck at mapping things, so any volenteers would be welcome.

Do you just want it UV mapped with a template, or do you want the whole enchilada? I can map it and make a template for it quickly. poserwulf@hotmail.com

Both the OBJ and the prop are on the way. They should have a real template so people can turn it into anything they need.

Ikyoto, nice prop. Since I have many potter friends (and many whose work has a lot of Japanese influence) and also know a fair amt. myself about Japanese pottery, I can see this with a rustic/earthy texture or even as a sort of raku type piece--with the lip it doesn't work as well as the very old style tea cups, but I might use it as that anyhow. With the right 'glaze' or even decorative work it could be a nice more decorative piece rather than functional. I like the .bmp (I assume). I will use it as an .obj (in Bryce)--others might too--is there a chance of posting it both ways so we don't have to export from Poser?? Diane B

Ikyoto, it's in the mail. I made a texture for it (included) that makes it look like a woven basket. I used Painter 6 and the "bicycle chain" pattern. pot.jpg

As soon as I get a texture map to bundle with it I'll make sure to include it. This one is actually based on a pot I got from a Chinese friend - we used it with a nothier pot jammed into the top sealed with wax to make beer.... I'll work on a cup set for you if you'd like.

I like the basket and the original--which does look pretty much like some of the Japanese glazes--beer, huh?!?--That's interesting. Neat prop and lots of various possibilities. Oh--cup set for me--I just saw that. Most of the ones I really like are very 'primitive'--def. not quite round, the hand of the potter is quite evident. I just like that you have first hand knowledge of the Japanese things so I like hearing the asides or stories that go with them G. Diane B
