Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 6:22 pm)
You'd have to pretty much use a python script to do that... otherwise, you'd have to go in and change each one of the lights, one by one, and if you only have P4 and not PPP or P5, that isin fact your ONLY option. Also, when adding a new light set, Poser only adds new lights or changes existing ones... any "extras" are either ignored, or turned "black".
Remember, kids! Napalm is Nature's Toothpaste!
The problem with the ones turned black is that they seem to continue to eat up memory. Those of us who are a little RAM shy need a few tricks and work-arounds sometimes. I suggest adding lights only after all figures and props are set up and posed. Save your .PZ3 with the default three-light set. That way, if you want to experiment between lots of complex light sets, you can do away with the "black lights" problem with fewer headaches. Once the "black lights" phenomenon really becomes a problem, simply re-load the scene with the default set, and start experimenting anew. By the way, the newish "Complex Global Lights" set at DAZ is outstanding ... if you switch between the diferent sets, you don't get any "black lights." If you use global light sets like this, allow yourself the optinon of adding a few strategic spots of your, pointed at the areas that need extra illumination.
It should be possible to control the lights via ERC, though it's probably a lot of work. What you could do is use a minimal figure (e.g. a figure made from a p4 square). Parent the lights to that figure and resave to a figures pallet. Set up master channels in the BODY for each light parameter you want to control (e.g. red, green, blue, intensity, etc). Then slave each channel in each individual light to the corresponding master channels in the BODY.

Here is an example of slaved lights using ERC. There are only three lights in the set, but it demonstrates the principal.Attached Link: LightControl.zip
Here are two files to make the process of adding ERC to spot lights easier. The ERC slaving is applied by a pose file, you only need to set up the parenting. It only works for spot lights, and only for up to 25 lights. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible. How do you change the level of light of a Globaly Illuminated Light Set? I created a Global Illumination Category last night, and have two super entries that I DL'd for free. Each light set has about 30+ lights in it. I'm wondering how these lights could all be made equally brighter or dimmer together. I'm sure not every scene will use the same level. I do'nt use Poser Pro Pack really, but it'd be worth installing for such Python Script, though I would'nt really know where to begin to write such a command. Any replies will be appreciated. = )
