It's Thanksgiving. That day in America that has no other value (anymore) than to act as "starting blocks" for the Christmas shopping season. The day when merchants across the US begin REALLY bombarding you with advertisments for your our dollars. (The local hardware/outdoor place called Lowes put all their Christmas stuff on the shelves in September!) In reality...a day that celebrates the day the Indians (called Native Americans today) saved our settler asses by giving food to them...hence the day is given to thanks. It also signaled the beginning of a beautiful relationship...well, if the gradual fleecing of the occupants of this land over the next several hundred years is what you would call "beautiful". Sorry...waxing a bit cynical at the moment.
We don't eat until 6pm cst. Then BURP! Tomorrow left over turkey and ham. Saturday: turkey & ham sandwiches with mustard and mayo. Sunday morning left over ham cooked with eggs and cheese to make a breakfast casserole. Sunday night turkey casserole. And so on until the turkey turns green, then it becomes dog food until it runs out. Who says we Americans are wasteful? lol and Burp in advance since it is only 4pm at this writing. Tommy
