THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: OK I got a (prolly dumb) question:

Darkdemon ( ) posted Sat, 30 November 2002 at 8:59 AM ยท edited Mon, 03 February 2025 at 7:28 PM

Please help me, I've made my school in Bryce 5 for my geography exam project, and I want a picture of it for my title page. I've seen these wireframe/partial renders and I loved em, but I don't know how to do them! Please answer my plea. Thanks in advance, Max

try doing a search for "moebius" (and possibly any other misspelled variation you can think of), here and in the poser forum. The poser responses may not directly apply to your situation, but you can get an idea about the technique.

There is a thread in the Poser forum that talks about getting the mobius effect and its at the link below. Catlin http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=808991

spray render / - just a thought

Darkdemon ( ) posted Sat, 30 November 2002 at 12:25 PM

Ya I've thought about spray render but it's not really neat looking, and I cant get it to save afterwards :P. (ok print screen still works)

Hey... that's a good idea, I keep forgetting about that little spray can....

You could look for my micro-tutorial on wireframe look for Poser figures in the Poser forum. But, before all that, you should export your mountain as an .obj and run it through UVMapper. Lemme check ... yup, that works. So, you do that and render the picture. Go and change the texture of the mountain to anything you want. Now, you can try with spraycan. Remember, you have to be *extremely* light-handed with the can. See up there. Or render the the textured mountain, then render the object mask and go play in Photoshop.

here's something I whipped up real quick.... thanks, airflamesred, for the tip. darkdemon, after the initial render, I found it helped to change anti-aliasing to fine-art or better to kinda "slow down" the spray. to save the picture, choose File > save image as...

Erlik ( ) posted Sat, 30 November 2002 at 1:01 PM

Er, for the last you have to export the wireframe mountain first, of course. since it's a texture and not the raw wireframe, it exports without problems.

use any screen capture after you are happy with your spray effect then bring it in to your PSP? program and crop or whatever roch222

Yeah, do a search for mobeus in Poser. I posted a few images there couple of months ago with the technique. You'll want a paint program that does lawyers. One image should be your rendered one, the other your wire frame one (from a screenshot maybe). Overlay the render on the wireframe picture and erase the parts of the layer of the render that you want the wireframe to show. And you can blend, etc.

Ok I downloaded a Photoshop Trial (it says I cant save but that's what screen capture is for!) this looks awesomely neat I'll try and post my pic when it's done (don't expect too much though ;))

Bryce_isse.jpg Ok I did it in photoshop, this is what I got from it: http://www.boomspeed.com/max_dark/Bryce_ISSE.jpg hope u like it :) Just pasted em over eachother, gradient tool then left it like that kinda liked the look :)

Bryce_ISSE.JPG The case of letters is important on Unix servers. Nice. Just remove the right-most tree. Or render whole of that corner of the picture.

When I tried the link I got this: max_dark's BoomSpeed.Com Hosting site has been setup and is active, But max_dark has not setup their main index.html webpage yet. Please come back at a later time. So didn't see the picture. 8?

Darkdemon ( ) posted Sun, 01 December 2002 at 9:30 AM

Ok, maybe I'll remove that tree, here's the link again for some reason it only works when I copy it from the open page :S: http://www.boomspeed.com/max_dark/Bryce_ISSE.JPG

Looks pretty good to me, although I would leave more of the structure in its rendered state to give more of a contrast.
