Subject: digital painting in ps and blending

Ok first great forum loved the smart blur tut and heres my wuestion i want to paint in ps and getsome good brush blending without using the smudge too painter gdoes this well but i hate paintes interface etc and love ps s layers im using 7 and the new paint engine is good but still fails compared to painter any good suggestion or help apreciated any info on layers et is welcome as well

TRAVISB,Just finshed posting a question for a friend and saw your post pop up,so your going to get my 2cents. Use both for what they do best.I do,many people do.Your right on the money in seeing what both programs are good at, and not so good at.Painter is all about the brushes,brushes,and brushes...it sucks at pretty much everything else.Use Photoshop for what it's good at..everything else(unless your into Vector graphics,but we won't go there today). OK maybe that was 5 cents worth...SWAMP

thanks this is a current work and the style of stuff im doing this is a early on pic and as you can see i just blurred outhe chest to redo it ! any tips on blending in painter as i havent used it often as well thanks for the feedback so far

You can do a lot of this in PhotoShop using the airbrush. The trick is to use selections to create "stencils" and then use the stencils to give you hard edges. If you're working from a sketch, you can often use the magic wand to make your "stencil selections". -Ken Heronheart-

im sorry but would you care to give me an example im prety sure i know what you mean like making cuts but it would help ?
