A 1 month road trip is coming up and I need to find a way to upload to MSN photos or another temporary place to store more Mg than my smartcards while on the road. I'll be stopping of at internet cafes to check mail etc, but will need to clear the cards once in a while direct from the camera to ??? (no laptop on this trip) Any suggestions will greatly be appreciated.

I am not sure about all the details of these sites. Some appear to be free, some ask for a paid membership. All of them seem to allow unlimited storage, but don't quote me on that. At any rate they are worth checking into to find out the specifics.

Hope this helps :-)

Another option may be a device like Minds@works MindStor, www.mindsatwork.net. Several other companies make similar devices, but I forget who they are. Ive used an older model of the MindStor, called the digital wallet, for about a year now, and have been quite pleased.

i am wondering how you plan on getting them off the camera to the internet cafes computer. My boss just went on a trip and I had to swap cammeras with him because mine uses mini CDs . I couldnt figure out how he could do it with his smart cards though we bought a UBS device i wasnt sure if they had the right drivers or would let you install them or heck even if they had a USB port.

Another option you might think about. Several places now let you take you camera's media and they will print your photos or put them on CD's. So if you are near a Wal-Mart or something you could have them burn CD's for you. Not sure what the cost would be compared to Internet Cafe time, but it would be a option. This past Summer I spent 10 days in San Antionio and I purchased an Imogea PhotoShow. This is bascially a 250mb Zip drive that have slots that allow you to copy pictures from compact flash and smart-media cards. I purchased a car adapter, so I could download the cards to Zip disk in my car. This worked real well.
