The House Mouse is probably the biggest sensation since the first Millenium Man appeared.... Now D-Bot looks to be taking off... Do you think perhaps that we're getting a bit tired of nude Vics, Mikes and all that, and perhaps need some diversity ???? What other character types would we like to see developed? Something that can bring new joy to Poser...different models.. Yes, I'm sure Vic3 will be great, but do we really need more Vic 3, 4, 5....??? How about some other stuff...my mind is blank wright now...too much pain killer in me...but D-Bot and House Mouse are in the right direction IMO

I wouldn't go that far. If they keep creating ever more versitile human characters, that can be radically morphed with just the dials I'll keep buying em. That being said I do love my mousy and robot. :) The biggest problem with Mousy, Robot and Droid, are that they are pretty much a fixed state model (well mouse does have some versatility, he can become a squirrel. :)) You are stuck with a robot, the exact same robot as everyone else has. (except for materials) I absolutely love my Droid, and mouse for $2, and the retro robot...well he was free.... but I don't think I'd have spent $14 on him. Now if they were to release something like a "Millenium droid" With lots of adjustible and morphable parts to acheive different looks that would be great. The best addon for mousey Daz could make would be a decent cat IMO. :)

Mosca ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 9:23 AM

Warm and fuzzy seems to be a major draw; bet one of the brokers will whip up a transmapped mil cat, mil dog, mil bunny, etc., soon. I'm kind of crazy about that peacock, but just can't afford it right now, what w/ the holidays. Wind in the Willows characters might do well, as might hobbits, dwarves, etc., and retro sci-fi items like d-bot are definitely cool.

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 9:29 AM

Perhaps DAZ could model some hi or medum res. chararcters...morphable, moveable limbs, etc... Priced attractively...lower than the full blown VIC for sure...

I agree with you chaps, versatility is a major draw to a model. I am pretty chuffed with Grim from the Platinum Club, he makes great old wizards and stuff. I would love to see more fantasy figures, go on Daz, give us a free Hobbit to celebrate the release of 'Two Towers' next week!!!

Animals...animals...animals...animals...animals!!!! Dog, cat, horse, please!!!!!! O.o Marque

pdxjims ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 11:15 AM

I really like the idea of a Millenium robot. Something like the morphing fantasy suit method of changing parts. A face that can be morphed for expression. The characters that seem to grab everyone attention are the ones that can convey emotion in some way. Most of the 'bot stuff is done for comedy. The mouse goes for warm and fuzzy, with a little gentle humor thrown in. My favorite non-human character is still Curio's Ragbash, becasue he can convey so much emotion. I'd love to see more and varied animals, but I want the same range of expression. A cat doesn't have a lot of face poses isn't much better than anything we've got now. Although I'd really rather have a good set of dogs. And I'd kill for a Hobbit based on either Mike or the Millenium kids.

CAT. CAT. CAT. Okay, a real dog, too, is okay, I guess. ;-)

Patricia ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 12:29 PM

Please....a 'CAT!* (It would be cool if it had morphs to squish in the nose and shorten the legs to do Persians, but a plain ol' garden variety shorthair would be a joy to have.)

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 12:37 PM

I think Michael and Vicki will always be a sensation, even with 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 etc versions. Yeah, once something has been released for a while it will tend to lose its novelty, but this does not detract from the quality that was employed in its production. I think Anton is planning to make a cat model for DAZ. The possibility of making a dog was also presented. What I would like to see is another male Millennium figure, but I have to concede that the production of such a figure would be expensive. PapaBlueMarlin

You're probably thinking, "Oh no! It's Bill Again! Do we even have to wonder what he wants?! Hold on; he's about to state his plea..." Well, who am I to break tradition? ;-) Though I know it's highly unlikely, I'd love to purchase a DAZ Millenium quality anthropomorphic cat girl with an ERC tail and digitigrade feet! Hmm, I'm beginning to sound like the kid from "A Christmas Story." Only, people won't be telling me I'll put out my eye; instead, they probably say, "People will think that you're a 'furvert!'"

Definitely a decent cat model. My two moggies and I are mortified at the thing which passes for the Poser cat.

I know, Phil. I bought it yesterday evening. Her grin morph looks absolutely diabolical. One almost expects to see a feather hanging from her lips.

xoconostle ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 1:31 PM

Anton indicated, not to long ago, that he was working on a cat. He said it probably wouldn't be of "millennium" complexity, but there's a cat in the works. You might recall that he asked for suggestions about what type of cat would be best. Most responders said "short haired tabby." You guys must really hate that mouse! :-)

Mosca ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 2:06 PM

The thing about mice is, you never have just one. One night you see one charging around the baseboards, next thing you know you've got twenty inside your bedroom wall, and they've figured out how to open the fridge.

GROINGRINDER ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 2:10 PM

A mil cat or dog please.

Zodo ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 4:26 PM

How about a nice owl figure? Don't see many of those around.

TheWanderer ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 4:42 PM

Hi Well what would I like to see? I found out I'm not very good at making human figures look realistic. Perhaps Vicki3 will be different, but for me they never quite work. But the things I do like are the animals both real and imagined. I'll go along with the 'mil' variety like the gorilla and the dragon. Much as I like that cute mouse and no disrespect to the model maker I have found that I wished he had more flexibility. How about a good Pegasus or mil-horse with removeable wings/cloven hooves and horn to make a real unicorn (not the horse with added horn like in 'Legend) Hippogryffs and Gryphons come to mind. Alternatively a mil Bear or Wolf/Dog (I go for dogs not cats) and yes a better cat Dave

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 4:47 PM

Cats and dogs have been requested for a long time, and now especially more so after CL failed to follow through with P5 pets. I have to credit DAZ with giving the people what they want so I don't think its an issue of "if" but "when" these figures will be released.

TygerCub ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 4:51 PM

Yet another vote for a CAT. CAT CAT CAT CAT CAT CAT CAT CAT CAT. And a Horse with JOINTED EARS! A horse's ears are very expressive. The Charger is nice, but it cannot be slimmed down to traditional horse proportions very easily.

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 4:55 PM

Here's a good one : Let's put that CAT on the back burner for a while...anything else would be terrific :) Perhaps the cat could get caught in that nutcracker while its chasing the mouse.....

When I did the original post, I really wasn't thinking about animals, especially cats and dogs, considering the fact they have been requested and hashed over about 9 times....if someone doesn't produce a decent one soon, I'd be really surprised. I'd sure like to see a bear and other animals that look like real animals and have the joints set realistically as possible as well,...but I'm looking more in the line of Hobbits, Trolls, robots, big foot...aliens...weird stuff....and modeled so they are flexible, articulated, morphable...fantasy creatures, etc

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 7:56 PM

These are good suggestions Dave-So if you are wanting to do fantasy stuff. I myself would like to see the cat and dog because they are more "everyday" type figures. A figure such as a hobbit or alien that has sufficient morphs to make it look like an ordinary person would be helpful.

Redfern ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 8:05 PM

Fantasy stuff, right. That's why I suggested... Suddenly, Bill's voice is drowned by the collective groan of the other Renderosity members, "Yes, we know, Bill! You needn't repeat it yet again!" Hmm, am I getting so predictable? ;-P

Hi there, V3 is basically a new person but with the Vicki name. You'll like her. We are planning on a cat. I would like to see a new horse and dog eventually. Mike3, of course. There are more cuties on the way for diversity. We have a cartoon kitty coming soon from Michael Lane. Sorry to see this so late. Email is faster. Thanks, Anton DAZ3d Platinum Club

I'm not sure if there are copyright issues involved, and surely there are, but what about 'fairytale' characters? That rabbit idea immediately got me thinking of an Alice in Wonderland style rabbit with a pocketwatch... For the most part its good to let people create more specific characters themselves, or in postwork, but I wouldn't mind seeing some familiar characters at Platinum Club prices. :)

A dwarf with seven different morphs (it would be silly to make them individually)? A big bad wolf? A frog prince? A detailed 'wicked witch' would be pretty versatile, though I have seem some products along that line... and for general animals, I'd like to see a good wolf/fox and some birds such as a macaw, cockatoo, raven... Okay I'll stop there. So many ideas, so little time...

Mosca ( ) posted Fri, 13 December 2002 at 12:25 AM

Anton--will V3 take V/V2 textures? Please, say yes.

Zodo ( ) posted Fri, 13 December 2002 at 4:30 AM

I heard that there will be 2 versions of V3, one will be compatible with V2 textures.
