Hi All Part Vue, Part Poser, All Picture :-) This is something I'm working on, this is more concept for the finished scene than the scene itself. I need to alter the orientation of some of the cars, I might motion blur them too and add a few to the upper section of the road too. Also, Moebius86's excellant dystopia blocks are only marginally represented here, I need to add more blocks to cut out the repetition. I welcome any feedback on this as it's such an early work it's possible somebody may think of something I haven't yet and help me to improve the scene.

Neat! I have 5 words for you: Do More + Then Show Us! :)

Very cool! The repeats aren't really too noticable. I wouldn't have thought twice about it until you poined them out.

Thanks for comments. The cars are different, the main glass texture of the canopies are different colours on a lot of them, giving what I hoped would be a feeling of different models. I have some additional vehicles that may work on the road too to give more variety, but I've got to see if the styles mix well. Flying vehicles will be present, as will a double billboard over the first bit of the road, then, just above the ramp, an overhead road map. Hoping to get some subtle product placement in for a couple of merchant friends in a very Blade Runner style. I'm also trying to think how, but I'd like to have the road spiral round above itself and shoot off in another direction so we can get some more cars circling around, but I may be biting off more than I can chew, this is my first attempt at a scene like this. Well I'll post updates when I have a significant update to post. best wishes and thanks again. Jody

Oh, and I ahve been watching Minority Report and A.I which feature these sorts of cars. Guilty as charged :-)

RawArt ( ) posted Fri, 13 December 2002 at 6:10 AM

are all the cars going the same direction on both sides of the road? Or if it is a one way road..then the double line might need to be re-thought. But I love the picture....if they are indeed moving all one way, it carries the impression of "moving forward into the future" :) rawnrr

Haven't decided on the road layout yet, still playing

Ah you make me sick! :) Nobody likes a show off...well apart from us 3D nuts. Beautiful scene, inspirational work, if this is a wip I can't wait to see the finished product Mon

Very nice! But your render is so clear that I can see there are no people in the cars! Low-rez folks would work fine, I'd imagine.

That's one of the things on the list
