Rita, You can use poser 4 figures in bryce 3D, I do it all the time. I noticed in your post below a couple of things. First of all, in the first pic you don't have the body parts grouped together. Second, in the material lab preveiw pic it seem to just be showing the hips or something like that. In mine when I do it there is a ball there so that tells me something is wrong there. And third in your last pic you are applying the texture to the hair. I can't see how these three screen captures came from the same session. Other than what other people have already told you, make sure you group all the body parts once you select them like in pic one. Make sure that you are exporting the p4 woman out of bryce and not the p3 woman, this could be it. Try rotating the texture along the x axis 180 degrees. Since tou said you are using bryce 3D with the patch (just like me) then I know you have to do this. Some things just do not look right in your material lab, especially why you have loaded the texture into all 4 channels. And there's the thing with the preveiw window. But I think that might have something to do with you not having all the parts grouped together. If you'd like to sit down and go through this step by step I'd be more than happy to do it with you. I think that might be the easiest way to see where you are going wrong. If you have ICQ, e-mail me your # to autoloader@hotmail.com and we will get together sometime and figure this out. Autoloader
Thread: P4 to Bryce3D!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you could post a pic of what you mean it would help but let me try to give you a suggestion or two that you might not have done. Make sure you export your poser figure as a .obj file. In bryce 3d you may need to flip the texture 180 degrees along the x axis. Make sure that when you are applying a skin texture that you are only applying it to the body and not any clothes or hair on the figure, and the same with the clothes, only apply them to the clothes and not the figure body. Hope this helps.
Thread: Suggestions needed for Bryce fishtank | Forum: Bryce
I did a fishtank a long time ago and used some of the little water plants that come with B3 in there, they worked really well. You might try that. Also, have you thought of putting any of those little "toys" in the tank. Zygote offered a free treasure chest, starfish, and anchor as a set a while back. Maybe try putting a small treasure chest in the bottom with some bubbles coming out of it. Also, if I remember right someone recently posted a scuba diver in the FS, you could scale it down and put it in there. Oh yes, in my pic I put in a castle that someone offered as a free prop, you might think about that too. I hope some of this helps, I'm trying to remember some of the things my oldest brother used to have in his fish tanks when I was a kid. Autoloader
Thread: Update on post below RE:Poser transmaps in Bryce? | Forum: Bryce
fiontar, I use PSP 5.5 and here's a little trick for you to try. I save some of my images as jpg files by just saving the bmp file, and the size gets really low without much lose in quality. But on a few pics I have noticed the lower quality so I instead of saving them as a jpg I use the batch conversion utility in PSP. It does not compress them as much and you don't lose as much quality of the pic. On average a 500K bmp will convert down to about a 120K jpg for me without a noticable lose in quality of the pic. If you haven't tried this yet give it a try and see what you think. Autoloader
Thread: Poser VS Win98.... HELP PLEASE!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Jack, I understand what you mean, but I got that problem in a little different way. I am running Win98 and when I first installed Poser 3 I had the menus that scrolled out to the side also, but when the Poser 3 patch came out (many many months ago) and I installed it then I started getting the scrolling menus. And like you, I HATE it. I have a ton of directories in the pose section and it takes forever to find what you want. Since all I did was install the patch and not change my OS then I considered it a patch problem (and regreted installing it), but since you only changed your OS then I'd now say that it's a problem between the program and the OS, neither is really to blame. As far as your question goes, I too have tried to figure out a way to get back to the side by side version but have had no luck and no one I have talked to can figure out a way either. So I guess we are both just stuck with this undesirable option. But if you find something out please let me know and I will do the same. Autoloader

Well Ihawk normally I would say that I wouldn't be too crazy about having to download a 20 or so meg file, but I would this one. She is simply gorgeous. You have done an increadable job on her, this is one of the best characters I've seen. Congrats.

That's no good, all that does is refresh the error page at zoom. How about just posting the URLs here so we can try going in direct or using a DL utility?
Thread: ROMAN ARMOR!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wow, there is just one word for your work.....awesome. But I just tried to DL them from the FS page and kept getting a message from zoom about them not existing. Am I the only one having trouble?
Thread: Drip Diver | Forum: Bryce
I did a pic a few months back in the same way (ie: PS's pouring water into a poser woman) so I know what it's like to line up the water with the woman. You did a good job, congrats.
Thread: how to select the textures for an poser4 figure in bryce 3D | Forum: Bryce
Go to Ed Baumgarten's site, you can find the link to it on the right side of this page under web resources. Once you get there click on 'tutorials' in the top bar, then click on 'poser text' in the left bar. This will bring up the tutorial of how to add a poser texture to a poser figure in bryce 3D. It's a real good tutorial with screen captures to show you exactly what buttons to push and everything. It's the one that I used to learn. Oh yea, be forewarned that this tutorial was written quite a while back and the texture he uses in the example is not that good compared to what's out now, so your figure is not going to look real pale like the one in his tutorial. It's just the texture that he's using is all.

Rita, I know what you mean, I was the EXACT same way when I started with Bryce, all my first pics were just water and skies with some balls or something thrown in. Then I started adding mountains and progressed from there. Now it is going to take a little time to get where you can do some of the more fancy things but don't give up, it will all come to you. Diane has given you a real good start there, and also check out some of the tutorials. As DM said, Peter Sharpe has some real good ones and so does Ed Baumgarten. I learned ALOT from those two, you can find their websites on the right side of this page under the web resources section. And another great place to learn things is right here at Renderosity. Don't be afraid to come here and ask questions, you will find that 99% of the people here will go out of there way to help you out. And one more thing, just remember that the only dumb question is the one that you never ask. ~grin~ Good luck. Autoloader
Thread: A few important questions | Forum: Community Center
Can't help you with #1 or 3, but as far as #2 goes, there are some free gif animators out there. A couple of years ago I download a program called GIF Construction Set (32-bit)by Alchemy Mindworks Inc. It's a pretty good little program and real easy to use. At the time it was a shareware program but I'm not sure if it is anymore, but I'm sure it would be easy to find out. One more thing, check out CNET's sites shareware.com and dowload.com, they have a multimedia and design sections with free stuff and trial versions. I'm sure you will be able to find something there. Hope this helps. Autoloader
