The finished piece "Crossing Cedar Creek" is up on my website now. www.randyearles.com you can see a bigger version in my gallery page there.
Thanks for all of the comments and help too!!!

 Rutra,
The luminosity setting on the tree textures did the trick, I took the value down and it was fixed. Thank you!!!! Something so simple had me stumped. Â I didn't even think to look there for some reason.
melikia,
Thank you for the comment! What you see is only a small strip of the left side of the image, to the right is a horse drawn sleigh, a covered bridge, and a house scene. It's not finished yet so I dont want to post the rest yet. I'll update in here when it is, hopefully this weekend. I'm reworking my website since the current one is too dark and not enough color but when the artwork is done I will post a larger image of the finished piece.
Thanks again everyone!
Randy

Thread: Need help with bfBuck and uvmapper | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I also just tried this using Lyne's Creations Deer family and the same exact thing happens to the buck, no texture. So, I dont know what is happening between uvmapper and poser but I keep following the instruction with both the bfBuck and Lyne's Deer files but get the same results. Either something is not right in my mac version of uvmapper or Poser 7 doesnt like these older files for some reason. I am at a lost on this one.

Quote - Note the lines in the materials you posted "textureMap NO_MAP", this means that by default the cr2 is not trying to load any texture. You are trying to load the textures manually in the material room, arn't you? Sorry for asking, but you don't mention that step in your first post.
I did but the texture was out of alignment, patches of texture and patches of white where it didn't line up. I just cant figure out why I am having this problem with the files and no one else appears to be.

Would this whole process of getting this to work be easier on the windows version of uvmapper? I do have windows installed on my Intel Mac but I dont have a PC version of Poser 7 though.

I opened the Buck-BF.cr2 file that is located in runtime/libraries/character/deer. There are other cr2 files in there for the different types of buck also. Is anyone else having the same problems I am with the bfBuck on the mac? I dont know why mine is so difficult to get working. Hi Miss Nancy, Thanks for the reply. I am using Poser 7 on the Mac and already have "Deep" selected in File Search prefs. The path that I wrote was according to the bfBuck instructions. This must be my inexperience with uvmapper and Poser. I followed the instructions that came with the bfBuck file but get the same results each time.
Thread: Rendering large still images | Forum: Vue
charlest, what your asking isn't unreasonable at all for size. I have renders that are 6000 x 7500 or larger since I am sending out the files for fine art printing. I would not render to screen, instead you can try rendering to disk. That usually works for me, the external render as suggested works too although I haven't used it much yet. Just be warned that depending on what you have in the scene the renders can take weeks or even a month or longer. I have had that happen. Another solution which sometimes works very well, is you can get away with rendering almost half that size and using a program or photoshop filter like Alien Skins Blowup or Genuine Fractals PrintPro to size up. Also, check the different threads here for some render settings that people are using. There are some great tips and tricks to help the quality and sometimes speed. Good luck and have fun!
Thread: Making Money with Vue? | Forum: Vue
I recently was signed to company that represents artists for licensing. They found me through my website. They have companies that wanted to use my cabin and balloon art for various things such as puzzles. What's nice about getting into licensing is that your art will appear on all sorts of things the world over. Everytime something with my art is sold I recieve royalty checks. So, thats one way you can make money off of your art and that can go on for a long time too. Licensing is very hard to get into but I got luky so there are ways. It also depends on what type of art you do. If you go that rout make sure you research the company and the most important is read every single part of the contract if they offer you one. Do not gloss over it. Get a lawyer if you can to help just to be sure. Also, make sure you retain the rights to your art.
Thread: Terragen vs Vue | Forum: Vue
Wow this thread is incredible! Way over my head but so far but there are some really cool things being done here. Great job everyone and especially Chipp for all of the hard work.
Thread: how to do this | Forum: Vue
Hmmm, mine are always very different in size in the window preview. Sometimes by a lot. Must be the openGL thing then since thats what I use. Oh well, was just a suggestion.
Thread: how to do this | Forum: Vue
Just a thought but I may be off here but the images look like previews of the ecosystem and not renders. Sometimes the way the preview ecosystem bitmaps look in the windows will be actually a little different when you go to render them.
