interesting thread... surprised how old it is. I have CC3, Daz Studio, Poser (or do i?!?) and i find makehuman amazing. you can do quite a bit of customizing to the character, it exports rigged, nice poly layout and the textures are very descent too. but for me, i think the best aspect is that the characters you make are "yours", and you can do with them as you please. fbx seems to be the trend now, and more and more programs accept the file format so it opens up more possibilities. sadly (for me as i can not sink my teeth into blender), the whole blender thing makes it tough, but if you can get past blender, you can do a lot with makehuman figures.

the makehuman figures import nicely in 3dcoat, zbrush and carrara.

can somebody fill me in?!? is poser free now or something?!? discontinued? owned by renderosity?!?

i think i had the cd for 7, and upgraded like 12 years ago but havent since... so im lightyears from being in the loop.

good idea with the zbrush tip, that was about 2gigs...

i was mistaken, my reallusion stuff is on my c drive, about 45 gigs, but studio and poser are on my d drive, so no worries. still, looks like i will have to add another ssd drive?

if you guys could help me as to what kind to get, thatd be awesome. i used to be better with this tech stuff, but ive fallen out the loop. i poked around last nite, doesnt seem to be difficult. add a 3rd/ssd and copy my c drive to that, and set my windows to read from that instead, then format the original? is that correct?

yeah, i dont know why my c drive is so full. all my reallusion, poser and studio content and downloads are on my d drive, which has more than enough space to accommodate. as far as programs, there really isnt much to speak of... i asked here because im "assuming" we more than likely have the "same stuff" more or less... i did try seeing what is taking up space, mothig sticks out as being omg, thats too much but i guess those little bits and pieces add up. but i gotta do something 10 minutes ago, down to my last few gigs =(

It will be a while before a newer version, Daz has even cut back on products for it...

I was out the loop for a while too, but not too much has changed... I think you'll like the Genesis figure and features...

You know, we just went thru a lot for better prizes at daz... but in all fairness, it's a lot harder to get carrara products in there, and for here file size is very restricting, so between those two points alone carrara stuff is slim...

Also, Daz is where carrara is sold, common sense more would use the forums there...

I have that link, I'm too chicken to try it, but I know paypal is somewhat safe with regards to purchases like that (they'll refund full amount if anything).

If I get desperate enuff I'll try it out and let you guys know...
