Thanks Robyns,
I have to admit I'm always a bit leary of purchasing 3rd party plugins. I've had a lot of issues in the past with plugins not working and/or a complete lack of support from their authors.
My girlfriend swears by PhilC products and tells me his support is first rate.
I decided to take the plunge and you were both right.Obj2Cr2 an excellent product; it's very fast and I like the workflow compared to using AGE then Quick Conform or Toolbox.
His support seems awesome too. He sent me my license key 5 minutes after I sent my registration.
PhilC is a true gem!

Quote - Turning off the "Use external binary morph targets" option, only stops Poser from saving PMD files, it will still read them when they're referenced by other files.
The only solution in this case is to delete the PMD file associated with the PZ3 that won't load.
You should then be able to load the scene, but all morphs will have disappeared.
The dial and material settings can be saved so that you can apply them to a fresh copy of any figure(s) (i.e. delete and reload any figures affected).
**Thanks so, so much :)

When I read this at first, I was like - huh; but, it finally sank in and worked like a charm. I started Poser without Binaries on, loaded up V4 and re-applied all my custom morphs. It worked like a charm - no more issues, no more headaches.

Hi Infinity10,
Thanks, but I actually tried that by disabling binary morphs save in preferences, but still had the same error message. I'm pulling my hair(s) out trying to get to the bottom of this...

V4 was a big disappointment for me.
The lack of some of the muscle morphs in the morphs package was a serious let-down. I posted on the DAZ Plat forums and were told they were coming. Of course they never explained 'how soon is now'.
What's worse, I've had a heck of a time creating custom morphs for her. Most of my V3 characters were heavily modified using custom Maya Morphs, but I can't seem to use the same techniques for V4 - it's as if the vertices order is messed up.
For now I would recommend any user sitting on the V4 fence to simply use V3. At the moment V4 is, in my opinion, far from the versatile character that Daz advertised.

I use a Quad and love it. I render things about twice as fast as my OC'd 6700: very helpful for heavy renders (I use Cinema and Maya).
Here's a chart, (from Tom's Hardware), comparing different multithreaded render times...Intel Quad pretty much leaves every other processor in the dust.

If you have the means, I highly recommend it :)

Quote - DAZ will shortly be releasing a muscular morphs package for V4 and it work in exactly the same way as it does for V3 and you will choose to inject it or to not.
PXP have you heard an exact date; or more just rumors at this time?
I'm very curious myself...

(I think Daz should have made it more clear that the muscle morphs and phonemes were not included)
..I will agree that V4 is a great character. Her mesh is better optimized than previous versions, her joints are improved (you can make them a lot better if you choose to re-rig in another 3D package), her expressions are very well done and she is very versatile. I was told on the Daz PM forums that Phonemes are coming soon. I’ve heard nothing yet regarding the muscle morphs: my guess would be soon, as they want to get people using her and buying more add-ons
If I use DAZ characters I heavily customize them anyway, but the muscle morphs do save me some time for some general shapes I've already started to make custom morphs for her and they’re coming along quickly. The pic above is the work in progress…

While I still think she should have come with a few muscle-form morphs, I'm starting to get ok results with her combined with some custom morphs.

Thread: V4 Morph Options Disappointing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Mike J, I am perfectly aware how DAZ works, and YES, the morphs we're discussing did, in fact, come with V3 'out of the box' at her launch - a point you seemed to miss.
V4 is supposed to be the next generation of Victoria - one would expect that she would, at least, have the same morph options as her predecessor - as it stands she does not: and we're not talking about 2-3 missing morphs.
V4 is missing all phonemes, all partial muscle morphs, all ethnicity morphs, the ability (within Poser) to scale body-parts in (x,y,z) etc... V3 possessed all of these at her launch.
To make general assumptions about people 'learning how to do something one's self' is obtuse; you're hardly qualified to judge a person's skill or knowledge level by simply reading a forum post.
I could easily spend the next week creating the missing morphs myself – that's not the issue. The issue is: why weren’t these morphs included in the first place? Nearly every Daz figure released in past 4 years has included the same family of morphs and people have come to expect them in future releases.
Thread: What if you find that you prefer V3 to V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Bigjobbie,
Yeah it's a bit of a drag...
When V3 came out there was so much you could do with her out of the box, but the lack of these features in V4 is limiting.
I was looking forward to doing some customizations with her this week-end, but guess I'll wait and see what Daz has to say about these issues.
Thread: What if you find that you prefer V3 to V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Bigjobbie,
V3 launched with an entire range of muscular, ethnicity morphs and phonemes. This wasn't an add-on: it was included with her launch Morph packs. V4 has none of these in her morph pack.
Further, V3 seems to be missing a number of nose, lip and eye morphs. (I.e. there is no LipUpRound on V4: this allowed a user to adjust the shape of the Philtrum, or ‘white roll’ area of the lip). Also, why can’t we scale body parts in V4? The ability to scale various parts in (x,y,z) has been disabled…this makes NO sense.
If a company is going to give a product a new version number (i.e. V4), the new product should, at the very least, have the same features as it predecessor: a new version should not have features removed. This is not the case with V4 and it’s a let-down.
Imagine if Poser 7 launched without the ability to render…you'd have a number of very upset users.
Thread: Daz Studio's Victoria 4.0 | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Honestly - I'd Wait...
While there are some improvements, (mesh distribution, joints and texture resolution), there are also a number features that seem to be missing. There was a huge advantage from V2 to V3 - the same can't be said for V4.
For starters, V3 (and the V3 morphs pack) had a virtual plethora of morphs to work with. V4, on the other hand, has been seriously scaled back. She lacks all muscularity and ethnicity morphs as well as many nose and lip morphs. Also missing are all the lip phonemes.
For some reason, beyond my grasp, Daz has disabled the ability to scale body-parts. With traditional characters you could scale any body-part in (x,y,z): this feature is missing in V4.
Daz should have taken the time to gather more feedback from the community - as it stands V4 feels very much like an unfinished product.
I use DAZ characters on a daily basis and I've actually asked for a refund for V4...a first for me.
