Subject: Generating errors when saving V4.1 to a Figure File (CR2)

Omadar ( ) posted Fri, 26 October 2007 at 9:29 AM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 11:28 AM

Hi,

I've created and applied a number of custom morphs for V4.1 in Poser 7 (SR 2.1). Everything works fine up until the point where I try to save her as figure.

The following error message is generated:

**An error occurred while processing the binary morph delta data. There may be insufficient memory to process the data or the PMD file is invalid.

**What's more, after this error occurs many of the DAZ based morphs simply stop working (when I dial the morphs, nothing happens).

Does anyone how any thoughts on what might be happening and/or a possible hotfix?

Thanks :)

Have you tried not using external binary morphs and just saving your morphed CR2 to library ?

I find it works much better to forget about using PMDs.

Hi Infinity10,

Thanks, but I actually tried that by disabling binary morphs save in preferences, but still had the same error message. I'm pulling my hair(s) out trying to get to the bottom of this...

Turning off the "Use external binary morph targets" option, only stops Poser from saving PMD files, it will still read them when they're referenced by other files.

The only solution in this case is to delete the PMD file associated with the PZ3 that won't load.
You should then be able to load the scene, but all morphs will have disappeared.
The dial and material settings can be saved so that you can apply them to a fresh copy of any figure(s) (i.e. delete and reload any figures affected).

**Thanks so, so much :)

When I read this at first, I was like - huh; but, it finally sank in and worked like a charm.  I started Poser without Binaries on, loaded up V4 and re-applied all my custom morphs. It worked like a charm - no more issues, no more headaches.

The only disadvantage I'm aware of is longer load times (significantly longer, it's a pity).  Poser will still open EF binary content, it just won't write any new binary files.
edit: duh, which is just what Noel said
