dr_bernie, you come in here and spout off about what other software can do. Someone complains, and you tell them to read your posts, etc. Why not just stay away?

So why do you persist in coming here and talking about other software.

This debate is irrelevant. Every person makes their own choice of whether to stay with Poser or not. I was a Poser cheerleader until DAZ Studio offered better software for free. Over the years, DAZ offered content that totally eclipsed Poser's offerings. I bought Poser 8 out of nostalgia, but quickly decided it had nothing to offer me. I don't see any reason to go back to Poser.

I assume you wanted to know if or how DAZ Studio (as opposed to DAZ the company) works with Poser. I abandoned Poser years ago in favor of DAZ Studio. I decided to give Poser another try, with Poser 10. I rarely use it. I've adopted the Genesis generation of DAZ characters. Poser doesn't work well, if at all, with Genesis. I've abandoned Poser once again.

The DSON Importer does not satisfy my needs, or that of many others. Does Poser 11 handle Genesis 3 figures?!

Does Poser 11 handle DAZ Genesis products?! If not, it's useless to me.

I just decided all my content will be manually installed. I got tired of DAZ's slipshod way of installing stuff all over the place. I refuse to buy any DAZ Connect only content.

I just want to buy stuff from DAZ & use it. I don't want to hunt, search, work for it. Just use it.

I've been looking more closely at DAZ Studio 4.9. I see the window where you can peek at the store. It's an awfully small window. I'd prefer something that can be adjusted to fill a monitor screen. I have a 24" monitor and 27" monitor. I undocked the content "tab" so I can see more all at once!

I wanted to experiment a bit with DAZ Connect. Is this a program or application, like DIM?! I can't find it anywhere.

I'm not worried about what happens to my "old content." Over the past decade or so, I've downloaded every single item I've bought. I've made DVD copies, and "clone" backups or every hard drive. I had been installing my content manually for many years before DAZ released DIM. I use DIM, out of curiosity now, but still install all my content manually.

I think DAZ made a mistake with DIM, and DAZ is just digging themselves in deeper with DAZ Connect. They had a good idea, but failed to fix existing problems with their file organization etc. Those are my opinions, but I won't waste any more emotional energy on the subject. I probably won't buy much from DAZ for awhile. I need to save my money for more important and rewarding things, like new eyeglasses or a new computer.

The overwhelming majority of my content is NOT located within "Vanity" folders or folders using the Published Artist's names. I really wonder if you people look at your content before you post replies?!

If I buy an outfit for Michael 7, I want the outfit to be installed in a folder with the name of the outfit I bought. I don't need the outfit put into a category. I don't want DAZ Studio to tell me what type of outfit it is, or which pieces can be mixed or matched.

OMG, you are wrong. There are no shortcuts to the characters found within the "Vanity" folders. The Vanity folders are just another needless distraction. I don't see a need for a database. Just label the folders correctly.
