hi all... yes its been a long time. Bryce and Hex do seem to be left lying in the dust... but, contrary to what was said above...both run in windows 8.1 64 bit...I run them routinely (along with carrara). I long ago stopped posting stuff and regularly visiting the site, but I do still like to stick my nose in here once in a while to see some old faces. Phil (staigermanus!) long time my friend...hope you are doing well!... cheers all!

very cool video.
I'm gonna do like Clay and post some links to video and effects I made in the old days.
brycetech.com may be gone, but some of the animations still live on youtube

nice to see another "old days" string...
and as one of the older hands, it's really nice to see some "old" faces..and I do mean that with all due respect.
Of late, it does seem that DAZ is letting bryce go the way of the DODO...sad, but...as even with STAR TREK NG, ALL GOOD THINGS MUST END.
Bryce is a pioneering program to allow the masses access to 3d rendering. I rem my first experience with it..and all that I went through from then til now. The heartache and the picking up where that was left off...the family that we all had then. In all honesty, I guess we're kinda "cult" in following it. At least, that used to be the way. Now, I don't know that is the case. Sad, but true. I've tried a lot of the old sites I used to go to..and most do not exist any more. Most free model sites are gone. Many tutorial sites..the same. Nearly all bryce "power" sites are gone or totally inactive.
As I've said in the past, if not for all the little stuff like food, shelter, clothing..we could all focus on our Bryce passion!
so Hi all. I'm no longer brycing..havent for years. My big computer is not even hooked up now. (prob should sell it) and I havent even done a simple model in..years. I'm a full time Health IT tech now and while the money is really good, the pleasure is not the same as when I had a lesser job and could indulge in my passions. At 47, I guess I've had to "grow up"..but, I don't feel 47..I still want to render the chrome spheres over water! I still love seeing the "silver surfer" renders. I still love seeing the old things that are new again as someone else discovers bryce. Its so much like watching a kid see a large gold fish for the first time at a chinese restaurant. The awe in the expression and the pleasure, is just not something anyone can bypass.
Congrats to AS. I guess someone finally rendered an image that captured his heart. Good on him! Best of luck...hard to imagine him without that insanely long hair! Would be nice to hear from him again.
you know what, we should have an "old timers" reunion..like the old bryce camps where we could all meet one more time before this flame goes out. I doubt anyone will pick it up again... really, I do. Itd be nice if as many as can could go and some new could also appear. I guess Dan and clan have moved on with Poser and left Bryce to fade into our memories. Just a thought...but if it were to happen, I'd be there if at all possible!
fondest memories and renders to all!

Thread: Roll Call | Forum: Bryce
Hi all
I have approached DAZ and have not gotten any response.
my proposal was to offer all brycetech dvd tutorials and content for free!
so..since I have gotten no response, I'm now coming to the community to host this.
this will be all brycetech tutorial dvd's
all included models, tutorials, videos..everything
but its must all be for free download and available for free to all brycers
we need the breath..we need the push!
if you have a way/place to host them all..this represents GB of data! please contact me!

you sir are still "the man"
you must for the masses. Bryce needs the input of power users...and who could be thought of more in that category presently than u?
lovely renders!

really nice to hear from the new and "old".
I, sadly, have not opened bryce in a couple years now. In fact, my "beast" computer is not even hooked up. Funny that I spent all that money buying the baddest bryce machine i could..and now its not even hooked up (8 processors, 56 gigs of ram, over 2 terra of hdd)
I looked at similar now..and they go for a small fraction of what I paid back then.
I noticed that the counts are down for the posts..even the numbers of current users online shows that life has gotten in the way of most of us and our art.
I've nosed around in your galleries..and its nice to see that some are still carrying the torch. Whats the latest with Bryce anyhow? what version is the current? is active development continuing?
oh..and someone said "frogdot"...lol...for those of you that didnt know him, he was absolutely a joker among the crowd! I'd love to know what happened to him. My fav memory of what he did was when we all were having a big crystal castle contest and I'd posted that thing that took 26 hours to save and he posted the same thing built out of toothpicks! lol
did that train that brycester was building ever get built from one of the other challenges? (how many of you even remember the train?)
keep posting..would love to see more of your works all!
really good to see
:)

Thread: In search of one of my old models---Sponge Bob Squarepants | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi
thanx for the link. I was aware of that one, but really wanted to get the one I made. Darhorn does have it so I'll get a copy of it back soon I hope. The grandson will love being posed with him.
