There is no doubt that these two figures share one originator, and that person is Blackhearted (Gabe). Summfox, make whatever claims you will, but the similarities, and the coincidence of your release with your receiving this file from Gabe is too much for you to argue against. I've never seen your file, and seen KI only in passing, and the similarities are overwhelming. You took his file, modified it, and released it as your own. That much is a given. But all is not lost. If you have one ounce of decency, or respect for Gabe's work, you'll stop offering this file as is, and re-release it as a morph to Gabe's KI. That would remedy the situation and also honor the originator of that figure. As an aside, and also as a reprimand, had you gone to Gabe and asked his help in preparing a morph, I have no doubt that he would have placed his considerable graphic design and modeling gifts at your disposal, and assisted you in any way possible. He has done so in many occasions as many on this board will attest. But this has happened before to him, and it's high time people started respecting Gabe and the other artists who make a living selling their skills on this board. Or else you run the risk of having the same done to you by others, and where does that leave us? Sincerely, Fredoman

Thread: How many of you are writers? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Might as well chime in here. I've made a profession as a screenplay writer for about 3 years. Sold three screenplays (Calle Ocho, The Seekers, and This Thing of Ours) but none have been produced. I'm now working on an adaptation of a real event in World War II (another damned war movie) for a production company in New York, and hopefully, this will be my big break. There's also been three short scripts (one produced and directed by yours truly) a children's book (incomplete) and a fantasy book that wasn't really that good. And numerous short stories. I see lots of good advice by other writers in this post, and while I'm not talented or experienced enough to give any, I will recite some given to me by a published teacher of mine called Les Standiford: The key to writing is to write every day.

Man, we're picky. Truth is that Colin did more with Raven than I've done before. Tech-D's right, we're not trying to insult with our criticisms. But when you create something, you have to be open to other's opinions. If only to validate yourself. As a writer, my worst moments are when my wife edits my manuscripts. You're totally naked. But when I get constructive criticism, I find myself looking forward to my next draft. I don't think I was all that constructive with my previous comments. As observers of Raven, we can learn a lot about camera work, editing, pacing and lighting. We can realize that Poser is THAT good, and the possibilities are limitless. Oh, sure, we can also notice the flaws, but the guy was working with Poser, not Maya. And he was alone, and lacking ILM's budget. The truth is that we should applaud the effort and the result. And perhaps direct our criticisms to ourselves for not doing as much. I, for one, apologize.

Tech, Saw Raven. Whoa. This guy knows direction and lighting and POSER. Colin did an amazing job setting mood, with effective music and sound effects. I just wish he had gotten better voice talent and a tighter script. Thanks for pointing it out, though. I didn't know there were others who had already succeeded in making these films. Colin's a good role model for the rest of us.

Pack, I will email you directly as well, but I'd like to post here first so others can share in the enthusiasm. I'd love to take a look at your script and put it in format. And I think that helping complete this project could be a perfect learning experience for all those that are basically tinkerers and want to get a bit more serious. I'm in the industry as a professional video editor (that's how I pay the bills) so I can assemble our renders as well as engineer audio and whatnot. As far as 3ds goes, I'll pick up whatever slack you have and learn along the way. I'm 150 pages into SAM's 24-HOUR book and I have access to 3ds 3.1 and 4 with a bunch of plugins. I'll fast-forward to learn a bit about texturing and lighting. If you need a texturer, then look no farther. So this is the battle-call, the gauntlet lies on the floor, thrown in challenge. Those that want to answer the call, you know what to do... Fredo

Pack, I'm interested. While my skills in Max are pedestrian, I've been reading every book I can get my hands on and tinkering with the Poser to Max/Lightwave combination. I'm also a screenwriter and a professional video/film editor. I have all the tools, access to a broadcast quality editing suite and thousands of story ideas. I lack partners and the 3d knowledge to carry it out. Let me know what you think. Fredo

Any tutorials that will help texture a figure in Lightwave when using the Pro Pack plug in? What about 3ds. It's like pulling teeth with that damned materials manager. HEEELP

I would love to see a really good MINOTAUR. Maybe using Zygote's Beastmaster as a template. That would be a sight to behold. What do you say?

I keep having problems with the demo. The scripts end up giving me errors. Maybe its me, but make sure before you blow the dough. Fredo
