I checked a dozen items at random, all clothes from the past few weeks, and despite using lots of other items such as hair and jewelry, none of them had any credits. This has come up before and vendors where chastised by us (their customers) for not giving credits. Now it seems to have expanded. I may be unlucky with the products I'm selecting but that doesn't bode well if it's a random selection. Several folks made the point back then, that many of their purchases where made based on other products they saw in the promos and where able to quickly link to them via the credits.

What a brilliant and fun idea. Now that you mention it, it does seem negligent that no one would have made such a set. Considering all the weirdness in the Poserverse, a pillow fight seems innocent fun.
Thread: Why so few new products for Poser? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Frequency posted at 5:53PM Thu, 10 September 2015 - #4227641 ...but I have not rigged anything in DAZ. Is it very different than rigging in Poser?
There's a huge difference....it's much easier for one. I feel strongly that Poser should really jump on this AND make the workflow easier, straight forward, and write good documentation (something that Daz has no idea how to do). I had no luck with DSON but found that I didn't really have to bother anyway. With folks talking about PPro 2016 maybe it'll happen? I'd sure like to be able to use to Poser full time.

I'd like to offer the suggestion that one reason could be because making stuff for Genesis is loads easier than making stuff for Vicky Four. Utilities like the the rigging and morph transfer tools take a lot of the grunt work out of making clothes for Genesis. There's also the fact that there are no undocumented problems in Daz like Poser's inability to save the geometry file properly requiring a goofy workaround. Maybe Poser could kinda get on this? If it where straight forward than maybe, just maybe more folks would make stuff for Vicky Four. Even though Daz is allergic to tutorials and has no concept of the phenomenon known as 'documentaion', it's still a lot easier to make stuff in Daz for Daz and Genesis. (A long time Poser user who also dabbles in Daz).

Morkonan,
I mostly agree with you and make constant suggestions in the Blender developer's forum. I hate the gui despite loving the program. Bitching about it here does no good, go to the Blender forums and make your thoughts known with helpful suggestions. It is changing, slowly, incrementally, painfully...but we'll, one day, have the brilliant program we dream of.

Thanks for this. My ad-blocker keeps some of it down but it's still hard to see the new products.
Thread: Why? | Forum: Suggestion Box
Before folks complain, I suggest you spend some time learning about the enemy and take an introductory class in marketing. Grinding through the riveting text book, "The Psychology of The consumer" was enlightening and showed me that marketing people are delusional, have no grip on reality and concerned only with profit. When they get a stranglehold on a company that has a soul, you can be assured that it won't last long.
The Poserverse and Dazville would be best served by going the way of the game mod communities where folks make levels and tools for various games out of a love of being creative, not for money. As much as I love playing in both Poser and Daz3D I may just go back to game modding (Half Life II). There was none of this greed driven garbage. The recent attempt on Steam to monetize the mods was met with an almost violent backlash and they backed off immediately. Maybe that's what we need here?
Thread: Looks like nearly everyone has gone Genesis | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I've used both Poser and Daz3D for many years but have been spending much more time with Daz3D lately after learning how easy it is to make clothing for the later Genesis lines. I discovered that it's possible (in Daz3D) to convert Vicky Four's many characters to Genesis 2 and bring along her massive wardrobe. The results are excellent. I'd rather cheat on my real world wife (of three decades) than Vicky Four and wouldn't have dreamed of leaving her. Now I don't have to.
No requiem for Vicky Four....rather a reprise!

I'm going to try and get the 'Let's make a comprehensive guide to content creation' ball rolling with this... http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/?item_id=75531 It's a short guide to sizing in Blender for Daz3D because we all know that size matters....all right, go ahead and make all the jokes...get it out of your system. I started on a 'placer' to kick off my line of cemetery/funeral items. This is the gizmo that sites over a gravesite and when operated, lowers the coffin into the grave. I'm making straps and will make a morph(s) that will lower the straps and the coffin into the grave. I learned a lot while making this thing, not the least of which was aligning stuff. Blender has an overwhelming number of tutorials available (unlike Daz3D) and it's easy to 'Google away' any problems.

If you need information on the gory details of Poser's inner workings....
Content Creation in Poser 5 by B.L. Render: Do not pass Go, do not collect 200 dollars, buy this book
now! While it's listed in Amazon or Barnes & Noble, there are usually several copies on eBay for under 20
bucks. Get one. I can't say enough about it as it cleared up ALL of my CR2 questions. An invaluable resource
despite being for an older version of Poser. Think of it as a combination of the Torah, Koran, Bible and the
Bhagavad Gitafor Poser. Every CC I've talked to swears by this book. She even details the rigging of
mechanical items including the rigging of a piston. The author is sadly, no longer active in the community but
will answer polite emails.

And since you brought up the point regarding religion, I spent many years fighting my way free of a childhood indoctrination into religion. I've become a real, honest to goodness scientist (anthropology) at the ripe old age of 60 and can now see religion for the hocus pocus, mumbo jumbo that it is. I trust we will all agree to not ever bring this subject up again.?
I'm not familiar with your previous work and am wondering what sort of things you intend on making. I also have the desire to make stuff. Along the way I'd like to document my progress and make a proper tutorial.

Here's a guide/tutorial/paper on my sizing workflow for Daz3D,

English Bob has an excellent little tutorial on the various sizes in different programs,
http://www.morphography.uk.vu/tutorials.html
I don't bother with the math, I just use a 'dummy' as a size reference when building stuff in Blender so that it looks right and properly proportioned in Daz3D or Poser. What kind of stuff are you making? I've gotten pretty good in Blender and want to make some items for 'Podaz' (Poser and Daz3D), then move into a line of ornate gowns for the ladies. Along the way I'm making a comprehensive guide. I'm much further along with the Poser guide.

@kljpmsd yeah I'm a gamer**.** Right now I'm mostly playing Batman Arkham City.
At the risk of derailing the thread......RUN!...Run hard and fast away from the evil known as computer gaming. I was a hard core FPS'er from Doom and Castle Wolfenstein and the Holy One known as Duke Nukem and then got sucked into the Half Life world. I even made mods for a bit. I still hold Gabe Newell solely responsible for killing my passion for games by refusing to release Episode III of HL2. I fondly remember those lonely drives along the beach listening to the water lap on the shore....the headcrabs burrowing out of the sand, the oh so satisfying 'Crack!' and punch in the shoulder as my shotgun blew a zombie's brains all over the wall. Gosh, sometimes I long for those simpler times. sigh

A full time professional graphic artist and photographer working for a small (but fun!) section of the (stupid) government. I've played with Poser/Daz3D since their inception and now use them to make small animations for work related training. I model in Blender.
Having burnt out of gaming, I've been making 3D 'stuff' to satisfy my weird, strange, perverted, bizarre, sick, twisted and just plain messed up fetishes. I'd like. no LOVE to make formal clothing (think back to the late 80's and those ridiculously ornate wedding gowns) for Poser and Daz3D. I started a tutorial a while back but was chased out of the forums by a (many, many expletives and derogatory personal comments deleted). I'd like to (tentatively and hesitantly) again try to engage interested forum members to collaborate on a comprehensive tutorial on content creation...all of it. I know of a professional technical writer on the forum who can help with the editing. All we need is folks who've figured out various parts and put it all together.
Anyone game?

This is the most brilliant thing I've ever see...software wise anyway. As much as I love Blender, as a long time user of many Adobe products I realize how ass-crap awful Blender's interface is, even after the 2.5 enema.

This is a good little tutorial about modelling for Poser that details dealing with ngons.
