I have noticed another problem with the 4.10 fixed bridge script.
I do a scene with a hair and use VWD to create a static pose for the hair. I save this scene as DUF, perhaps render it also.
Then I create a new scene using the same character and hair. I use VWD to create a new static pose for the same hair in this scene and save it.
Then I go back and load the first scene. The _VWD object is completely messed up. The origin may have been moved and the hair stretched.
If I rename the hair to have a unique name in each scene, then I don't have this problem. I don't think I had this problem with the old bridge script from before 4.10.
It seems like there is some data files that are generated in common between the two hair _VWD objects from the different scenes and they are being overwritten by later uses of the same hair.
I have not tried this with clothes. Not sure if they have the same problem.

By chance, would the material in the genitalia have the same name that materials in the figure. If so, try to rename them, it might get you through.
The Genesis 1 and 2 female genitalia surfaces have the same name as the main figure, because they do not need a special texture. You just apply the skin materials for the main character to the genitalia. With Genesis 3 they changed the genitalia to require different material and it has different surface names.
Just removing the genitalia to run VWD seems like a better work around than renaming the surface.

To be clear, these are the DAZ genitalia that come with the pro bundles. These are not third party genitalia.

Using the new DAZ 4.10 bridge script, I tried a Genesis 2 Female with genitalia attached as a collision object I got an error saying "Index de liste hors limites (1)." When I then exited VWD I get "Erreur E/S 103."
Without the genitalia attached, it works fine. I also tried genesis 3 Female with a genitalia attached and that worked fine, but genesis 1 with the female genitalia attached gives the same error.
This error is happening when I set the genesis 1 or 2 character as a collision object. I am not selecting the genitalia which is also in the list.

I have this problem. VWD does not seem to work with hair anymore. I get back an object that only has one surface and the texturing comes out all wrong. I cannot go back to 4.9.

I did some experiments today. If I only set the Genesis 2 figure as collision and press record, it works fine. If I only set the prop as collision and press record, I get the error after a variable number of frames. Apparently there is something wrong with this prop. It is from a free set I got at ShareCG, so not surprising there might be something wrong with it.
But the prop is not actually moving at all. I can uncheck use animation for the prop and only record the animation for Genesis 2 and then I can get it to work.

I also just tried the new plugin that I got an email about today, but I get exactly the same result with it.

I tried getting everthing else out of the scene, except for the Genesis 2 character and the prop. It got further. I got to frame 290 before getting this error.

I have been using the InaneGlory Point and Shoot light sets. There are versions for both 3Dl and Iray. For 3Dl I usually used Point and Shoot 2. Point and Shoot 3 is basically Point and Shoot 2 with an added ring of light that I never used very much, so I would recommend Point and Shoot 2.
With 3Dl the default gamma is 1. To get more realistic lighting you need to use gamma 2.2 and turn on gamma correction for the textures. Gamma 2.2 is default with Iray, but not 3Dl.
With Gamma 2.2 light intensities fall off more realistically. This means you need less artificial ambient light generators. For portrait renders at Gamma 2.2 I found the straight Point and Shoot 2 lights were fine. The ring of light is basically to add ambient light, but found I did not need that.
There are issues with rendering at Gamma 2.2 in 3Dl. All the 3Dl material on products you buy for DS are designed to render at Gamma 1.0. Gamma correction fixes some of the material, but not all of it. I frequently had to reduce specular strength by a lot on hair and some clothing. I also reduce velvet strength on skins. A lot of hair has opacity maps where the Gamma of the texture is set incorrectly, which causes the hair to look very thin at Gamma 2.2. That need to be fix by setting the gamma to 1.0 on those opacity maps.
I now exclusively use Iray, so it has been a while since I used 3Dl.

I consider Graphmate and Keymate essential to doing manual animation. Animate 2 allows you to assemble animation blocks, but there is a limited selection of animation blocks available. If you want to manually create new animation or mix your own animations with animation blocks then you need Graphmate and Keymate. Studio will smoothly interpret between poses at different key frames, but this sometimes results in overshoot and weird or jerky looking motions. Grahphmate lets you see graphically how each pose parameter is changing as a function of time and allows you to add more key frames to fix the motion.

What scene are you rendering?
Older sets made for 3Delight may include a sky dome that blocks the HDRI lighting and will makes the scene render black. You need to delete these skydomes when using the scene with Iray. You can use the HDRI to replace the sky dome.
I have also had cameras inside an object enough that it blocked the Iray render by not the preview render.

I view Graphmate and Keymate as essential addons to do animation in DAZ Studio. AniMate2 is very useful also, especially if you want to use some aniblocks in your animation. I have AniMate2, so I'm a little vague on the difference between the free AniMate Lite and AniMate 2. I might be fine with just AniMate Lite, but definitely need Graphmate and KeyMate to do animation.
Thread: How do you import/convert Poser hair for use in Daz Studio 4.8? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Your Daz 3D Library contains a runtime directory, and that is probably where you are installing it.
Content from Renderosity or any other non-DAZ store will never appear in smart content in DAZ Studio. (Much of the old V4/M4 content in the DAZ Store does not have Smart Content either). You need to find the content in the content panel. For Poser content, you need to look under "Poser Formats -> My DAZ 3D Library" if that is the library you have been putting it into. Under there you will find Figures, Hair, Poses, .... Usually the hair itself is under Figures or Hair and the color presets will be under Poses or sometime Materials. Most Hair material made for Poser will work in DAZ Studio, but a few hairs may have material that do not render like the promo images. Most Poser hair will not have Iray material, but the Poser material might well auto convert ok to Iray material. If the hair material uses Poser procedural shaders, it can render badly in DS, but I have not seen much of that.
Thread: Best Rendering Settings for 3Delight & lRay in DS 4.8 ? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Iray, unlike Luxrender last time I used it (year ago or so), has some convergence criteria to terminate the render. Iray renders will not run forever by default. The main quality control is done through the 'Rendering Converged Ratio'. This is some measure of what percentage of pixels have converged, ie value of pixel is not changing within some tolerance with each iteration. The default is 95%. If you get to 95% convergence that produces a pretty high quality image. Some people have gone for 99% convergence, but I don't see any rational for that in anything i've rendered. Low convergence, like 20-50% might be a draft render.
There are several other controls that will also stop the render, even though it has not reached the convergence target.
Max Time (sec) - the default value on this is 7200, 2 hours. If you leave it at that render will end at 2 hours even it is has not reached the convergence you want. The Maximum value is 259,200 which is 72 hours, but I think you can set it to zero and it will run forever. This is the maximum time. It will quit if it reaches the convergence target before this.
Max Samples - I think this is the max samples for a pixel. If you reach this the render strops even if the convergence target is not reached. Default is 5000. Maximum value is 15,000. I think you can turn off the limit and set higher values or use 0 which makes it unlimited. Again if it reaches convergence target or any other max limit is will quit first.
Render Quality - This apparently effects how Iray considers a pixel to be converged. The default is 1. I have always just use the default and I have seen posts indicating you should not fiddle with this. I know some people use values like 1.5 or 2, but i would just leave this alone.
So what max time or max samples do you need to set for a given quality? That is totally dependent on what is in the scene and how the lighting is done. Iray render times are very sensitive to lighting. The best thing is to just set huge times and sample or maybe zero (i have not tried setting zero), so neither the time or samples stop the render and you can judge based on quality you see if you want to stop before reaching the convergence target you set.
Iray likes outdoor scenes using the sun/sky or a good HDRI on the sky dome. In my experience, indoor scenes are a lot slower to render.

adamr001 has some 3Delight render quality presets that range from Draft quality to Insanely high quality. You can read about them here:
