Also check to see if the camera head light is on or off ( cameras tab ) If its on and the camera is close to the subject, and its set to rernder ( render settings check box) then it will make the light set look very washed out. I always turn my headlamp off and if needed use a fill light i can control instead. To sort your situation, load the scene, remove all lights from the scene tab ( if there are any) and also delete the envirments settings from the scene tab too, this should reset ds to the original hdri. From there you can load the lights you want. Another thing to check is under render settings / environment - if your using hdri settings you need to have dome and scene turned on, it might be that something in one of the sets has reset the environment to the day/time of day settings, again this will suddenly make all of your lighting load wrong.
Thread: Vue going subscription | Forum: Vue
It would be very nice before I subscribe to a particular plan, to know exactly what I can and can not do with that plan. So what can we import/export for instance? What is still locked in to vue? What are the render limitations?
All of the stuff that was really clear in the old website. I like the idea of being able to switch between plans, if thats a thing. But there is a huge lack of information around these new plans. Anyone got any info? Also what support is there for poser and daz studio imports?
Thread: Is there any free software that can do bump, displacement, normal, specific | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Its not free but i is cheap - Shader mapper and shader mapper pro They are incredibly handy and fast tools to have.
Thread: importation of Object files | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Other software genereated .objs can come in at very strange sizes. If you can export the object with scaling to daz studio it will be fine other wise you need to fiddle with the percentage size on the import dialogue in daz studio. its not unusual for things to need to be scaled to 1000% or even higher, thats fine, it just re sizes it to the daz studio universe. It is a bit of trial and error but once you work out the percentage you need to use with the objs your importing youll be fine. Its worth having a play.

Quote - Hmm... it seems i'm the only one here who succeed to enter the serial after having looged in, and you all seem to have upgraded from P7 while i did from PPro.
Maybe is it related?
Im with you vince, i had no probs with logging in, or serial numbers, it was to be honest, surprisingly fast and efiicient !!
Thread: Trying to make stunning scenery like Terragen.... | Forum: Vue
I have often looked at terragen and i do like some of the pics it produces, however, I do think you can get simaler results with vue - with some trial and error. How ever i agree with the many people who have asked why you'd want too!
Vue is amazing in that it can produce a huge diversity of landscapes, however IMHO all depends on the lighting and atmospheres, you can have created the most realistic land scape possible in vue and then find that the lighting does not work at all. However there are a huge number of rescorces avalble to help you here, and at geek at play, and of course the forums and gallerys at cornucopia.
Placement of rocks and plants etc is some times trickey, especialy rocks, unless they are mixed with other vegitation , they should always be buried in the surface, if you look at the average rocky landscape then try to dig one of those rocks up, youll probhably find that like the ice berg, up to two thirds of it are under the surface!!
But i would strongly suggest that you dont try to reproduce a terragen landscape in vue, you wont, its not terragen and does not have the same look, simple as that, and its really much more fun and far more productive to look at what vue does well and use those strengths such as the material editor and function editors which can get you practicly what ever you want with the right knowlege and some trial and error!!
Ive also played with geo controll and might well buy it!! Its a great way of creating your own custom terrain maps to import in to vue.
Thread: Does anyone buy on the basis of a product showcase? | Forum: Vue
IMHO we all create the odd horrible pic!!! thats where the delete button comes in soo handy...... but there are some great learning resorces out there for you.
Check out geekatplay.com if you havnt already, their tutorials are the best!!!
Keep plugging away, look at other peoples work, troll the forums for ideas and fixes and take advantave of the tools that are avalible with vue.... things like skin vue, terrapak, the swarm, and interor pak to name but a few.
And dont be discoraged and think youll never be as good as some one else, some of us still feel like that from time for time that have been using vue for years!!
Develope your style, and stay true to what you want to create, and if the results arnt what you want, then try to find out why..... some one out there will be able to help you!!
Ve & ins a great tool. but start with what you feel comfortable with, then move on when finances and inspiration dictate it!

Thread: River watter rapids SLOW AS SHIT TO RENDER! | Forum: Vue
For what its worth i have in the past found that water features can be increadably slow to render, then i tried using the external render option (batch render) this did the trick!
This was a while ago. but it really speeded things up for me, so it might be worth a try for a single frame, i dont animate so i dont know if this is possible for an animation, I think water is the most difficult thing to get right in any 3d app.
Thread: Ecostsystems in the plant editor - berries or other fruits? | Forum: Vue
You can also use an eco on the foliage texture too but this is a little more complicated.
First open the foliage in the material editor, and then go to the simple material editor and click on the alpha youll see beside it there is a little black or white square with a circle in it , click on this then right click in the alpha pane and select copy material from the drop down that appears.
then click the little square again to restore the alpha so that it works proplerly as a trans map.
then click on the advanced material editor, and then check the ecosystem box.
go to the density and distrubution tab, and check the variable distribution box
then right clifk on the function pane in that box and select past.
set the density slider at top left to 100 percent
then you can go about importing the objects you want to poplulate the eco with, and at this point i would save the material and then apply it to the plant in the foliage section.
you may notiice that the prevue is a plant covered in what looks like sheets of paper, this is normal and when you render it shoudl sort its self out!!
As i said its complicated and some times takes a few goes to get it right but its definatly possible!

Thread: Need a refund/store credit | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Hi,
I am very sorry to hear that your having trouble. The package does not contain any material other than that created by me based on the .veg files that ship with vue 6.
However e-on have said that there is a problem which happnes rarley with the encryption of .veg files which means that they ask for another file that isnt in your library - it always seems to be the preshitoric plants.
This also to happen with only with certain peoples versions of vue ( im geussing that its the build and model of vue your running )
can i ask what version of vue your running and the build number ?
I have asked them to fix the aquatic files and am waiting for a response and an upload link and will be happy to send you a copy of them once this has been done, so if i can ask you for some patience we can fix the problem. It does seem to take them a while to respond to stuff, and thus fix it.so i will understand if you want a refund.
please email me directly on this site, so that we can work out a solution.
I can assure you that to my knowlege at the time of purchace, these plants were both working and do not require any other purchaces to make them work. Further more if there is a challange with one of my products i am more than happy to fix it and yould not ever change up the read me to get out of that responsabilitie.

Thread: Now this is weird!!!!! | Forum: Vue
Hmmm, I too have ahd some odd things happen when starting up v6inf, i saved a scene and the reopenedd it and lo and behold, the camera was elsewhere...ie not where i had put it where i saved it, it was below ground level miles away form the group of figures it was last seen pointing at, I wonder if there is some sort of glitch with saveing the camera settings, I too nearly screamed, as id spen hours getting the camera placement and setting s right, and had to do it all over again!!
