Thread: Poser 8... First Impressions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
 Thanks for the comparison information.
Faster rendering, but no render queue, but it IS faster, and looks better from what IÂ gathered with Keith's example. Decisions, decisions.
Thread: Poser 8... First Impressions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ahh, this thread is pretty big, so forgive me if these questions have already been addressed, but after scanning all pages I still have some doubts about upgrading:
I've noticed some talk about P8 rendering faster than PPro, even though 8 doesn't have the 64-bit render engine. Considering that this was the main reason IÂ upgraded to Pro, just how much better is P8 supposed to be at it? IÂ just want faster renders; IÂ was unfortunately extremely spoiled by XSI's mental ray implementation, but obviously, IÂ can't really afford XSIÂ for home use.
Does it work better with DAZ V4 and M4 generation content? On both P7 and PPro IÂ had to copy all the base files for V4 and M4 characters on the main program Runtime, else Poser would take forever to load them, and most INJ morphs wouldn't work (though IÂ fault DAZ more for this than IÂ do Smith Micro; they knew how Poser works, yet they chose to eschew it to make DSÂ more attractive from what IÂ see, as their whole "Extensive Parameters Technology" never seemed truly necessary nor that improved from properly managing V3.
How's the dual monitor support with the new UI? Right now IÂ use one monitor for the viewports, and IÂ place all the UI elements in the second monitor, so IÂ don't have any dials or windows getting in the way of my work.
How do Poser Pro users feel about this "upgrade" after buying PPro? Missing anything?
I'd be really pleased if those questions could be answered.
P.S. I must add that even though I'm disappointed PPro did not include these features, I'm glad that Smith Micro is finally looking into the program's UI and looking for ways to improve it, as the UI hadn't been touched in ages. IÂ just hope they looked further in than just the UI, as I am afraid Poser's been handled by so many different companies in so little time that the code in it is probably as unfriendly as it can be.
Thread: Any suggestions for some sane V4 Office Clothing? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just checked 9mbi's store as well. Lots of great stuff, and some clothing that I can actually picture someone wearing to go to work! Too bad 9mbi doesn't seem to have banners promoting such a great product line littering the site like every fetish vendor seems to have :/

That looks like a nice dress you're offering for free :)
Not quite what I'm looking for right now, but I'm certainly keeping it for later. The post itself is very interesting to me; maybe I'll finally try to model something for Poser rather than just depend on brokered content...
Thread: How do you add poser 7 runtime to poser pro runtime? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
IÂ know the render engine always default to fixing gamma and hdr output. Remove those and check if it helps; IÂ just haven't used Pro enough to confirm these items helping but it's worth a shot.
Thread: Has anybody done a child morph for V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the help guys! I'm checking those sites and downloads. I already have Ashley - I was looking for something younger but if this flat morph works out that's probably what I needed most. V4's sure tough to flatten!
Thread: Poser 7 U.I. Driving me crazy | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That's a heck of a system. Anyway, if that worked fine before it's definitely got to be the drivers.
Anyway, heck of a spoiled one, using "multiple figures in a scene" huh? Heh, I usually end up doing composites when I need more than one figure...
Thread: Content Paradise / Poser Survey | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That's the silly part of it - when I was going to buy my first PS version I weighed it in and ended up purchasing the Creative Suite. I found that a much better value than PS alone.
Anyway, I think the survey was pretty good. At the end where they ask for comments I just requested the option to directly manipulate vertices. Magnets and morph tools are ok I guess, but nothing beats direct access to the vertices. Why hasn't that ever been in Poser through all these versions anyway?
Thread: Poser 7 English Service Release 2 Now Available | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, this is the first time P7 (even the no-SR-right out of the box P7) actually crashes on me. I had V4.1 on scene, did a render, and when I hit the tab to go back to the Preview window, the desktop greeted me. It hasn't happened to me again, but then again, I haven't used V4 again either. The more I play with V4, the more I find myself going back to A3...
Thread: Looks like Bruce WIllis Character for Apollo now Live | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm not a lawyer but from what I understand, as long as it's not used for profit, and there's no product that would have its sales affected by it, there should be minimal issues. Btw, thanks for answering my Part 4 question Anton :).

I'm impressed. Downloading it!
Btw Anton, what of Part 4 of the Apollo download? Did I miss it or something? Just wondering.
Thread: Poser Library Icon Problem. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It doesn't seem like an error to me. Was that icon different before? It just looks like that's the way the content developer made that icon.
Thread: Output render different than screen render | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You don't get to choose that until you click the "Make Movie" button. I know it's counterintuitive, but once you use Poser for a while you get used to it's weird quirks.

PNG's actually have a transparent background so you can put them on top of anything else easily in an image app such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. If you want the black background you should go for another format.
