When I made my purchase, I got an email titled "Order confirmation" along with an ID number.   In the email, you have a link that will take you to Renderosity to see your order. In the summary, there's the title of the product you bought e.g. "Poser 11 for Windows and MAC" and right underneath it for me, was the license number that I then used to log in and get my download of Poser 11.
I hope that helps.

Quick update: I just made my purchase and wanted again to thank the community for their help, including those that emailed me directly. And now to start some "posering" in version 11... just gotta find that "Make Art" button in the user interface... (kidding)

Thanks for the replies everyone. @Rhia474 - thanks for pointing out the Poser 11 official technical forum, I just posted my question over there and am hoping for a reply soon before the sale ends.
@Richards60, that's also a good idea, I may try that next and see if Poser 12 would run on Win7 too. I could've sworn that there was a service release where the notes said that after the patch, that Poser 12 would definitely only run on Win10, so it has been something that I just assumed would not run on an older OS.  Poser 11 is the only one that I would want anyway, given that the GameDev features were removed from Poser 12 (for reasons that I still don't understand... decimation is a very much needed feature if I want to fill a scene with a few M4s and V4s).
@Cascade777: thank you, are you running Poser 11 with all of the latest service releases applied?

The problem is that there's no way to trial test it on Win7 before I spend the money, and no one from the company bothered to even answer my message so far.Â
Their webpage has the download for Poser12 with the ability to test it out for 21 days. No such download exists for Poser 11 from what I could find.
At this point, I may as well continue my slow transition to Blender... the Poser folks don't seem to want my money (grumble, grumble)

I know the system requirements say that Win10 is required, but has anyone tried to install and run it under an older OS (Win7 is what I'm still using). Sometimes when a software vendor says Win10, they really mean that it isn't supported under older operating systems but can still run on them.
I contacted the customer support to ask this, but it's been a week and no reply. I would otherwise look at buying Poser11 but not unless I know it'll run first (if there's a trial version of Poser 11 for download, I'd like to at least try that).

I was going to take advantage of this sale until I saw that the system requirements for Poser 11 was now Windows 10 (ugghhhhhh).  I know Poser 11 used to run on Windows 7. I'm assuming that one of the later service release patches must have updated the binary to a Win10 only requirement.Â
Is there any way to revert to an earlier version of Poser 11 which still worked under the older operating systems?   I'd love to use those GameDev features (poly reduction, etc)

Removal of combine figure, find unseen polygons and reduce poligons, Path Palette from figure menu
What?!? They removed Combine Figure and Reduce Polygons? Why? Those features would be the only reason I would ever upgrade (I certainly would never use Poser 12 now knowing this, maybe Poser 11 if that's the last version that will support these features).

I'm surprised that Karina still has items hosted on sharecg. I could've sworn that he once said something about how sharecg removed one of his freebies (I think it was a female genitals addon?) and this soured him on hosting Sasha on sharecg. I could be mis-remembering it though.
I've moved on from Poser but I still like to keep an eye on the Poser community for any new developments that might lure me back. I'm slowly learning Blender3D since I've been more impressed with the features and constant evolution of the program. It has fluid sim, upcoming NPR shaders and comic book-ink renders, geometry nodes, support for Mixamo, dynamic cloth brush, an upcoming way to store figure poses, etc. all for free. It's hard to say no to that. Poser needs some revolutionary features (mostly in how it handles clothing, a hybrid of conforming and dynamic) to make it worth the price, IMO.

Yes, same here. Anytime someone online disappears for a long time period, I worry that COVID got them. I hope that isn't the case, Karina made a great contribution to the Poser community but has experienced some bad luck with his health.

Agree with what everyone is saying about Face Room... the moment I heard it had no V4 or M4 support, it was DOA useless.
Other candidates: Hair Room, Setup Room.
I'd prefer it if Hair Room could be used to make the more simpler, faster-to-render, less memory-consuming, transmap hairstyles quite frankly. Or it should come with a ton of presets for popular hairstyles that you can load in, and then only have to tweak to get a more customized look.
And by this stage in Poser's lifecycle, there should be an Auto-Rigging feature built in to quickly rig up biped figures at the very least.

That's an excellent point, FVerbaas! I never liked the A-pose and preferred the T-pose (probably because that was my first exposure to the default state of a 3d figure) but you've changed my mind. I always wondered why some figures used the A-pose and this makes it more understandable.

I think what also helps keep V4 and M4 alive is that Daz will release those figures for free (along with some nice addon packages like V4++ and M4++) every once in a while. I already got these for free many, many years ago during an earlier Daz promotion, but obviously it helps that Daz does still push V4 and M4 to some degree by giving it away. People will always flock to stuff that they don't have to pay for (initially), like figures, and 3d packages like Blender.
I would consider pushing the idea that Bondware should give away a limited version of Poser for free and try to adopt a make-money-from-content business model like Daz, but I fear that it just wouldn't work precisely because the compelling content isn't there, unlike with Daz. But at the same time, trying to sell a 3d package for over $100 is always going to limit your ability to grow your user base... people are getting more and more used to open-source software (free).
Bondware needs a way that content like clothing and hair will work seamlessly across all figures (older ones like V3, V4 to newer ones like LaFemme and Dawn), no messing with Fitting Room because new users simply won't bother to spend the time to learn it, and that way content creators can make clothing and have access to all Poser users that are on whatever figure. To me that means a new dynamic cloth simulator that is far superior to the current outdated Cloth Room, but has the power of something like VWD (but with a ton of presets or the ability to analyze the mesh to apply a preset to it accurately). I buy the cloth, I position it so that it overlays the figure in my scene, tell the Poser cloth wizard that this item is cotton (or the content creator provides the presets that tell the new cloth wizard what is constrained, what is not, etc). and then in seconds it just simulates what I need...

I also mentioned V4 and M4 earlier in this thread but should clarify (especially now that Karina has returned from the Beyond) that I am slowly migrating my V4 characters over to Sasha-16 during the COVID-19 lockdown, and am absolutely loving Sasha as I get to use her more and more.
May I ask a follow up? Why are you still using V4/M4? Why not one of the newer models?
Hi EC, I actually have mentioned this in previous threads about why I still stick with these two figures. I've created a ton of custom characters (using the morph brush, using imported OBJs, morph packages, etc) for both figures over the years, and the amount of time and energy gone into those, is just not something I want to repeat by porting them over to any of the newer figures -- which are mostly female anyway, and Karina's S-16 is so good at fixing any bending issues, plus maintaining compatibility with my huge library of V4 content, and it's not been as hard as I'd feared to port their faces to S-16, so I'm happy with what I've got.
I do hope Karina eventually does a similar fix for M4 (I think a lot of happy S-16 users are waiting for that too), and if there are any content creators who would like to keep making clothing for V4 and M4, that's the stuff that I'd still buy today. Ideally a conforming outfit that has parts which can be simulated either with the Cloth Room and/or VWD to get the best of both worlds (hybrid clothing). Sadly I think most content creators are Daz-only now, and I've lately been just kitbashing existing clothes or modelling my own clothing and using the cloth room, or even just using post-work to get the render I want.
