The Vue plugin, Mover 4, didn't originally support dynamic cloth or hair when it was released, but they released a free update recently (Mover 5) that allows the import of both, so I would say that it'll probably be soon.

I already got more than I wanted out of this thread anyway. I got oohs and aahs, I got new links to model blueprints, and I got to share tips on my favorite program, Carrara! The only thing that could make me happier is if somebody posted how to clone myself, so I could use Carrara while I'm asleep!
Thread: Bryce or Vue 4 | Forum: Bryce
When faced with the choice myself, buy vue or bryce, I chose vue 4 because of the mover plugin. See, I use poser for animation, so being able to import animated figures into vue is a very big feature to me. I've worked with bryce, and I know that importing poser figures into bryce is no picnic either, and you can forget about animated figures... after getting used to the differences in the interfaces, I found that vue can do just about everything bryce can do, and where I couldn't make any sense at all out of the deep texture editor, I've found that vue's texture editor is very intuitive. (rather similar to the old Ray Dream Studio materials). Bottom line: Where bryce is definitely a unique software experience (due in part to Kai Krause's wonderful interface), and of course, bryce was there when there was nothing else (no vue, worldbuilder, mojoworld, etc) It would seem that it's at an evolutionary dead end. Vue on the other hand , seems to be just hitting it's stride, I've a good feeling that the next few revolutions are going to bring great things. And e-on appears to know that bryce is in limbo, they've say that vue will open a bryce scene with no problems or prep work. I haven't tried it myself, but if bryce truly is only $80.00, I'm sure I'll be trying it soon....
Thread: Vue vs Bryce 4 ? | Forum: Vue
For me, the fact that I can import animated poser scenes into vue means there's no comparison. Also, creating your own materials is easier and more intuitive than in bryce.

Ahhh.... Now i don't feel so poor... I was actually thinking of doing a render of this model in stainless steel, with the "time machine" gear strapped on the back. Maybe a caption that reads "You should see what happens at 188 miles an hour..."

how do you think the diablo sells? While we're on the subject of mexican lamborghinis, I saw a lamborghini countach in the parking lot of my local wal-mart with the mexican flag airbrushed on the hood.... Don't look at me like that. you weren't there...

oh, and if you're wondering, I modeled it from blueprints I found on the net, and I used the vertex modeler. No smoothing, and I tried to balance the polycount between beauty and performance.

Thank's Roy! I think that's the best advice I've ever got! (I would've replied sooner, but I didn't get an e-mail notifier...) I'm gonna go give my URL to anybody I can... Thanks again! Brain
