Thanks I will take a look at the zip file. The other hard thing to do is create a GLOW effect on something as if it is illuminated. In VUE you can just turn on luminescence and it will create the effect of a slight glow on any object. If you could do that in Poser in combo with Ambient turned on it would be easier to create better lighting efx.Â

Thread: Shader node Issue - can't delete from Animation window | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you. If I wanted to edit the pp2 any best editor to use? Notepad and then do i just look for the shader nodes and delet out of there? I don't want to mess any of the other work in assigning groups and materials. You're right. They don't automatically go away and because of this I have a conflict of some sort.....

OK I used Firefox instead of IE and it worked and loaded just fine. This looks pretty awesome - so how did you do that? Can you send me a pz3 file? Thanks!! hamiltonp@sbcglobal.net

Strange. When I right click it and do SAVE TARGET AS it creates a *.htm file only!! you can email me this at hamiltonp@sbcglobal.net. Thanks so much I am curious what you came up with and you're right I can't get good frosted glass in Poser either. Now in VUE that is different....

that image you just posted above looks great if you could get something close to that. I don't know how to do procedural shaders - so I am using that primitive texture map.....I'm close and if it's spinning it may not matter. BUT - I would prefer something like the above.....

I did the perspective UVs but all it did was make everything RED and then the applied material didn't show up.  I would appreciate any other ideas and tks for the feedback.

They do look great - can you animate these? Are they available for download? ....

When will these be available in a tut? I would like to try animating them as I have found no good fire/explosion/smoke tuts for Vue. These look very promising.....

Thread: How truly easy is it to open a poser project and render it in Vue? | Forum: Vue
I have been doing animations with Poser and VUE. For me the render times are horrible when rendering frame by frame in VUE with an animated Poser scene. So I would typically duplicate the lighting from Poser to Vue as much as possible. Render the background scene in VUE, then composite over the Poser animation and shadows. If you plan your scene you can get a pretty good result. Plus if camera is stationary - compositing can save you lots of time.
Yes, it means two renders but I think I am still spending slighlty less time on it this way.

Thread: new tutorial: Stars & Advanced Nebulas :) | Forum: Vue
I am wanting to create the space scene from the opening of Star Trek where some of the closer stars move but the background remains static. Can this tutorial be used for that and would you use a SPHERE to make that happen?  tks

Yes I did use the faceroom on all of these and used screen grabs from the DVDs of the TV Show - it was tough finding the side and front views. I then cleaned everything up in Photoshop and even added freckles for Will to create my own faceroom map textures. Tedious to say the least. I found it funny that the P5 characters are named Don, Judy, Will, and Penny.
Did you watch the trailer and see these animated?
What about that Hawkeye? Where did that come from?

Thread: Converting VOB to OBJ 3DS? | Forum: Vue
I have successfully imported it into PLE and am tyring to export it as an OBJ. My first attempt created the object but did not carry the material assignments - there are 55 separate material groups on this model. They look good in Vue but I need to keep these assignments so when they go into Poser I won't have to remap the entire obj for mats.Â
Thanks for all of your suggestions but now I need to save the file with mat assignments. Ideas?

Thanks Anton. I used P5 Don and Judy for Will, Smith, and the women. For some reason the faces just seemed to come out better on the P5. For Don I used Simon. For John I used James. I have been playing around with Apollo and wow he does a lot - I think I may use him for an Alien......thanks for the kind comments....
