THe armor is a good start. I like the shield, but the standard (from what I've read) Roman shield was a square framework -- wooden for the poorer soldiers, brass, bronze, or iron for the wealthier ones -- with a wooden or metal center piece containing some sort of sigil on one side (unit designations and such -- the origin of European heraldry I THINK). A piece of boiled leather was stretched across the framwork then boiled to shrink and tighten. THen the centerpiece was bolted to it, with the handle on the back and the raised symbol on the front. Or something like that.

As far as I know, you can't export objects of any sort from Bryce -- but you can use Bryce to create an AVI or such and import that as a backdrop.

40-50 emails on the Poser list? You were on during a slow period! I was on for a few months, averaging 40 a day, but some days it got up closer to 80! I remember once when I was offline for three days and had over 300 messages, over 200 from that list!

Nice. COuld someone either create roller-blades or an MT to mutate these guys? I love the skates as-is, but have no use for them, but rollerblades I could play with... ;-)

Wow, the samurai stuff was here MONTHS ago (roughly a year ago!), back when Willow ran the place. I downloaded most of it, but that was before I had my system go haywire. I kept a few pieces (the helmet mostly, which I have on a figure and SHOULD be able to track down...). If it's not still on Free Stuff let me know, and I'll see if I can find it. It may have migrated over to the Parts Guild, now that I think about it.

I remember someone (Hafeli?) making a smoothe cleavage morph for P3; I don't know if it's been ported to P4. The T-Shirt Girl character at Graylight's Poser Archive might have what you're looking for though

Nyarlathotep has MANY forms, over 1000. The best known are the tall black man, a faceless robed figure and the form of a pale creature that appears to be human from a distance and from behind, but the arms are too thick, and the face is a tentacle, I think. This description was from one of Lovecraft's "fragments." I THINK Nyarlathotep was really the creation of Robert Bloch, since most of the Nyarlathotep stories were his.

IIRC, Roman armor included a leather breastplate and a metal "skirt." Officers and such would have metal inlaid on the breastplate, and some lower ranking officers would enhance the armor with wooden slats (hence the "banded armor" of the Dungeons and Dragons game, for example). Wealthier soldiers would use iron but most could only afford bronze.

The Costume Shop CD from Zygote has both a veil and a nice scimitar -- I THINK this is the same scimitar from the Sampler, but I'm not sure.

Flaming Carrot was also the comic book where the characters that last year's "Mystery Men" film was based on first appeared. Great stuff.
Thread: Roman GLADIO &seath | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Nice. But I think the proper name is "Gladius" (Gladii would be plural?). The other main weapon of the legions was the pilum, or spear (in fact, the second in command of a unit was the Primus Pilum, or First Spear), essentially a javelin with the head removed and a 3-4' long lead shaft used to extend it. A very nasty weapon against shield armored foes -- if they blocked it it would get stuck, and the shaft would bend making it difficult to remove and render the shield nearly useless. If they didn't, they'd be hit with the thing with even worse consequences...

Great head. But Great Cthulhu is described as dragon-like, with a toad-shaped but humanoid body, and often depicted as being winged (probably from the "dragon-like" reference). The body should be bloated and stunted, with overlong lower legs, and long spindly arms, I think. The vinyl Cthulhu model I've seen is NOT a good reference, but, believe it or not, the Plush Cthulhus available at the Pagan Publishing web site are a decent model to use.
