I was very wary of upgrading, because of all of the scare stories. In the end, I gave it a go and am really pleased that I did. With the addition of SR2, most bugs seem to be fixed, or to be able to be worked around, as thefixer says. The only two I can't seem to sort out are: 1. The inability to use Texture Filtering on big textures, even with 1.5 Gig of RAM - easy to work around, just switch it off. 2. The weird artifacts that happen on some hair eg sassy hair, after rendering - just get rid of them in postwork. Give it a go - I haven't regretted it. DigitalDreamer

Point CS2 to a different scratch file than the OS Virtual memory (ie, a different hd/partition) and the Dutch dyke will leak less!

Even once you have applied the texture, you may need to play around with the skin shaders. From within Studio, Click on Windows/surfaces and then make the followinga djutments. They will vary according to lighting but make a good start: Diffuse color: 255,243,237 Gloss: between 45 and 55% Specular: between 20 and 30% Specular Colour: 222,222,230 Refraction 100% Refractive color - either pale blue or pale pink depending on what looks best. IOR 1.38 I have borrowed heavily from Questor's tutorial on Skin tones in Daz|Studio which can be found at the Daz site. Good luck Nic

if an sr requires a clean install, why not say so on the web site? Many of us believed CLabs when they said SR3 did not require a clean install when for many, it did.

A10 Firefly; there is still a problem with it in as much as it tries to make straight edges curved, as follows: Make a cube primitive. Render it in firefly; some of the edges will become convex. Only workaround i've discovered is to switch off smoothing, but then you lose some of the shadows.

Just a quick thought: when you download clothing etc for Vicky, Mike or Steph, make sure that your folder name indicates which version it applies to eg V2 or V3, M2 or M3, Steph or Steph Petite. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has wasted a couple of hours trying to apply a V3 texture to V2!

oh and If you are looking for Poser related sites, have a look at www.pixeloceans.com. The resources center has a poser section which lists sites and tells you whether they stock characters, hair, textures etc

Personal attacks may not be tolerated but several artists who only posted their art here were sent anonymous e-mails to their home mail boxes for posting art opposed to the Iraq war; some left Rosity because of it. Some, myself included, stayed but with a completely revised opinion of Renderosity. Seems ironic that we went to war to restore freedom of expression and speeech in Iraq, yet that same attitude is not expressed by some members towards others.

SoulTaker Either buy it from Amazon.com and pay the shipping or get someone in the USA to buy it for you at amazon.com price and pay the shipping. Either way it's cheaper than the UK price
