My main interest is nature and since i dont have any spectacular landscapes here i focus on animals. Im fascinated by the insectworld plus i dont have the equipment for shooting birds, so its macro for me :o) I think it must be my fascination with nature in general that got me to photograph but i really dont know, i guess i just like it ;o) What i get out of it is the hunt and the opportunity to see a lot of the macro world with my own eyes, it gives me an excuse to watch the little buggers for hours on end if you will LOL Ofcourse also satisfaction when a particular shot comes out really good :o)

No sheila its paintshop pro, but i translated it myself lol since i have a dutch version ;o) Effects / photo enhanchement (or something like that) / 'fadecorrection' is right above manual colorcorrection... i translated all the names but i think you can find it now... :o) Gotta go now... Uhm... how did i do this... ??
65% fadecorrection, desaturated by 30% then i resaturated again, this makes the less colorized parts in the image grey. Then i colorized the highlights with 'colorbalance' after which i resaturated again. Guess thats it... yeah i did it like that :o)
Oh and i darkened and added some contrast at some point as well...(brightness -40, contrast +5) ;o)

Hi Brian, i think people just take the easy way and with todays cameras it has become even easier to take "the easy way" ;o) I do not consider myself an artist, i do not try to create artwork. My purpose is to show the folks on rr the beauty of nature and ofcourse i try to portray the creatures in an appealing way. Everybody has their own reasons to photograph their subjects and upload them here. L8rdaze is right about the fact that the 'snapshots' have 'overshadowed' the more artistic photography here, but i dont think theres any rule to what kind photography may be displayed here and what kind not. To me photography is all about capturing beauty, with or without manipulation. Personally i have not much of a thing for photomanipulation because i try to show reality in stead of 'unreality'. I respect the ones that do manipulate their photography though, such as you :o) I simply wouldnt have the patience or the skill to create something similar to your work lol :o) Well thats my view on this matter, have a great day/evening, Jeroen

LOL you arent kidding !!?? :o) If that were in holland they would come up with all sorts of idiotic devices lol, once the ran around with a megaphone lmao another time they had this machine that made noise. There were crows then that were terrorising the neighbourhood, not in ours though... saw it on the news :D If your not gonna work, have a great time doing nothing then LOL ;o)

Not that i dont believe you LOL but i think it would be awesome to experience it.
