The problem should not have too importance because most of the 3d programs don't use the normal information from the obj file, but the error still exists and depending on how each software deals with this error many things can happen:
1- The error is ignored and the model loads without any problem.
2- The software display an error or warning message, but the mesh is loaded without problems.
3- The software display an error message and refuses to load the mesh.
4- The error makes the program crash.
It looks that PP 2012 obj exporter each time that find a normal 0,0,0 no end of line character is generater and the next normal is added to the same line producing a wrong sintaxis and data in the obj file.
MeshLab is an excellent program and source of inspiration, but is buggy and very weak. Any model that has something wrong makes MeshLab crash.

No doubt, it is a Poser 2012 bug:

It is mising the end of line character and so you have two or three vertices normals in the same line.
There are more wrong lines like this in the normals sections
The effect of this error will depend on what does the progran that reads this file.
1- If the programa doesn't use normal information in the obj file, the model will import without any problem just because all the normal information (right or wrong) is ignored.
2- If the program doesn't use normal information, but check the sintaxis can report that the obj file is wrong
3- If the program use normals, it will read the first normal in the line and ignore the second one or report an error of extra characters in the line. In any case it will be missing normals (less normals than vertices) and the read normals will all be wrong (a vertex has the normal of another vertex)

Even with cathode ray tubes, the old CRT monitor, the relationship between grid voltage and beam current is very non-linear near the cuttoff voltage (black level), but becomes more or less linear in the white levels.

Correction. In this case gamma 2.2 is not a power, it is the inverse or 2.2 root. The power is 1/2.2. In case of gamma 0.0 will give (RGB)^1/0.0 = INFINITE.

Well, in theory a gamma of 0.0 should produce a white image where is nothing more than white every where

Quote - Three back to back render images, gamma correction off=0.0, gamma correction 1.0 and gamma correction 2.2. No other changes in render or material room between renders. Render window to follow.
You just achieved exactly the same result as the BB examples, all three images are different.
Gamma 0.0 has color, gamma 1.0 is more in black and white and gamma 2.2 produce a washed and dull image typical with using gamma correction.
PS; Your best image is with gamma 0.0

Quote - I already answered that.
Quote - Two of these look not quite identical (individual pixel differences) although the luminance is the same overall - the reason is that IDL is semi-random and produces tiny differences from one render to the next, even with all settings identical.
That it means that every rendering that I make will be different and never can be repeated ? I am speaking about perceptible differences, because your example B doesn't look the same as example C. B has some color and C looks more black and white.

If gamma off and gamma 1 are the same thing, why these three images are different and not only two

My new LED monitor has three gammas, gamma 1, gamma 2 and gamma3, which one have I to use?

Thread: I know what color gold is - finally | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The ball looks very good.
I don't know where you can find corroded gold, maybe some miners can have gold reacting with mercurium images. A friend of mine cleaned a Mexican gold coin, the coin looked beatiful with the shining gold, but he discovered that the coin lost most of its value. He aged the coin with chemical at the University laboratory and the coin returned to its original value.
Egyptians had fun with electricity, so they could make corroded gold, but this was beyond the capabilities of the people in the Bible, so probably the covenant ark looked as normal gold and not as in the image that I have referred.

Quote - Some critics. The romm in the scene looks very good, but the covenant ark looks very bad. The poles or handles are completely black without any relief and un-natural. The ark itself doesn't look as gold. It can look as metal or painted metal that has suffered severy corrosion or have been exposed to the environment for some centuries. The object in the back has gold reflections, but looks more as a black magic mirror.
Update: Now I have a fresh new LED monitor, the poles don't look black, now are dark brown, but continue to look without relief. The other comments remain still valid.
My new LED monitor has three gammas, gamma1, gamma2 and gamma3, which one have I to use ?

Thread: PP12 in Vista can't save files to Libraries | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have a very small drive C:, only 20 GB and used only 10 GB (XP64). I don't install anything in C. Some nasty programs don't give any choice than to install in C, I try to avoid using these programs and even if installed I try to move them to other drive once installed.
I have a drive D for only the swap file (virtual memory) and a temp folder, nothing more there and have no swap in any other drive including C.
The advantage of a small drive C is that for Microsoft only exist drive C, all the mess is done there and the other drives are always clean of Microsoft's garbage. As C has limited capacity the trash cannot grow forever there, in one moment there will be no more room for trash and so, a forced cleaning operation.
The other big advantage of a small C is that I can create a disk image that fits inside a DVD, it gives more or less 3 GB compressed, in my case. If some program or crapy driver update makes my computer don't work anymore, I restore drive C from the image with a boot CD and in less of 5 minutes I have my Windows working again. I never re-install Windows !!!
All my programs and data are in E,F,G,H,I,J,K and LÂ Â M is the DVD

If Microsoft virus protection would be so effective then wouldn't be hundreds of millions infected computers. Enjoy the UAC and don't forget to install the latest security patch

Thread: Help!!(.cr2s, pz3s, etc) should never include mesh data (embedded geometry/objec | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Regardless of any personal preferences or opinions on whether external geometry is a good thing or not, the major Poser brokerage sites require it for products to pass testing.
The only one that requires this is Daz3d, I never had any problem with any other store

Quote - > Quote - ...but for props, hair and simple cloth (shoes, skirt, shirt, collars, etc) I prefer internal geometry.
Why? Why, when external geometry for props uses less resources? Are you into using more resources just for the hell of it? LOL.
Laurie
Internal or external memory use the same amount of resources, evry time you load something with external geometry more memory is allocated, it's imposible to have the same memory because each instance of the object has a different location in space and probably a different pose and morphs.
Kust look at the amount of memory used in the task manager amd begin to load several times the same character with external geometry
