Thankee I have been wanting to thank you for all the hard work you put into these models and then give them away...I use alot of your models in my pics and I try to always give credit to you....YOU ARE A MASTER and one that I hope one day that I will learn to do modeling as fast and as good as you...THANKS FOR ALL THE AWESOME MODELS.

By going into the texture editor and changeing the ambience setting on the part you want to changeNOTE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT PART HIGHLIGHTED OR YOUR WHOLE MODEL WILL TURN TO THE COLORS YOU HAVE SET(BEEN THERE DONE THAT)you can also play with the diffusion settings to also try putting a light close to the character and turning off cast shadows then turn the color of the light to tan skin tone and there you have it tweak with the settings a little

Thread: Exporting and Saving | Forum: Bryce
well first you make sure that your object is grouped together then you click on the upside down triangle next to create...then you click on the library you want to save it to like user then click on add give it a name and it is saved after you click o.k...then you click on the thumbnail of the obj and then you click on export it will give you the option of saveing it in what ever folder you want like in my documents my object files or whatever you name it...hope this helps a little in order to save as obj you need to make a big rendering of the object close up then you export image into a folder then you click on the second or third triangle next to your working window/camera moving buttons and find mask click on it and render again then export the image into the same folder as before...now make sure you render it real huge...then save your model in creat library after you save it delete it from your scene then click on create then click on the symmeritic lattice(the spinng top thingy)and then click on the E next to the model in the next library you will see the option NEW click on it then click on the tab PICTURE and import the first pic you exported then import the second pic(THE MASK)THEN CLICK APPLY then you can smooth or roughin the object but it will only be a 3D object if you extrude(pull)the sides add your textures and away you go you then can export the model as an OBJ or 3DS there are several options there...hope this helps

I agree Bryce is slow and I have heard nothing but how slow 5 is to 4 so I am going the route of Lightwave I hear nothing but good from that program anyways hope you find your solution
Thread: Feathers for an eagle | Forum: Bryce
Another way of doing the texture is 1.save the texture in a texture library on a 2d surface or box then delete your eagle and create a box apply the eagle texture and + the box until it fits the screen move the sun so it is shining on the face that is towards the camera and render it at the highest resolution your computer will handle then export the pic into a folder and open it up into your favorite paint program and go to town then import the pic thru Bryces picture editor and apply it to your eagle...these steps are what you would do if you dont have a template to work with and it saves tons of time on trying to make it look real...one thing tho you might want to check with the modeler and see if they dont mind you redoing there texture 99% dont mind but there are a few who do tho...hope this helps

You can also export the object once you save it in the create library as an obp file and export it to what ever folder you designate
Thread: Videoadapter | Forum: Bryce
You need to get over to the hardware forum and ask there I had the basic same question and was told the actual rendering speed is not designated by the video card but the processor and that the video card was excellent for modeling and haveing realtime refresh in modeling mode?I am upgradeing to the geforce2 SILURO 64 DDR AND A AMD 1.4 ATHLON so I wont be able to help there but if you like modeling you need to get to the amapi forum here and click on the link and download Amapi 4.15 its free and fun to learn not to many tutorials yet but in the forum here you can find links to some outstanding artists tutorials

Thread: Render time | Forum: Bryce
well for the first thing I see is that you only have 100 megs of ram partitioned for bryce..1 good object will take up that much when you have terrain and extras..I also agree with the lighting and textures but that all is a mute point if you have volumetric settings set on in the clouds/sky editor check to see if you do and if you dont do this then...save your object into the user presets for objects...2.then export your obj to a folder(where you know the obp file will be put and you can get later...3.export the object into folder..4.re-import the model back into Bryce and re render....now hope that helps when I had 1 of my military bases I was building for Alamo did the same thing so I did what I told you to do and it worked everything was fine went from 2.5 hrs down to 18 minutes with scene...HOPE THIS HELPS
