Hi Sheila !! That first one actually looks really nice although is not so much of a macro though. The 3rd one look perfect to me, but i can see what you meant about the dof. The last one, well.. thats a difficult one for macro. Probably better to take more distance and not shoot it ion macro. I think you didnt do so bad here, you might need some more practice yeah but youre on track my friend :o) I dont know what cam you have, but do you have a macro setting ? And whats the minimum focus distance ? Also, if i were you, id start by putting as much settings to auto as possible... just see how it works out. Actually, to tell you a little secret, i should almost EVERYTHING in auto lol (auto focus, auto whitebalance etc.) gives you more time to work on the compo etc than when youre fiddling with your cam ;o) Especially with bugs you just dont have the time... also a reason why macro lenses suck ;o) By the time i have put on a macro lens the bug will be gone, so.... Anyways, youre are doing great Sheila... just keep on shooting :o) Oh btw the dof i get is created by focussing on something really close by, my cam can focus on something 3cm from the lens. Have a super evening my friend !!! Jeroen

Uhm lol i did a complete desaturation, so actually its is b/w :o) Except for the rings. I just took your image (a colorworked one) and selected everything that still had color, except the rings, and desaturated. Then i put the saturation up a bit to let the rings stand out better :o) Hugs, Jeroen

Thread: Crop question...again, new image. | Forum: Photography
Hi Thomas, the crop you used in your posting is perfect but since you're asking... i might have cropped it differently. Something like this i think. Oh btw., i also adjusted the saturation and contrast a bit. Hope you dont mind. :o) Have a great week !! :o)

Hmm LOL now that i see the image in daylight.... sigh a bit too blurred lol I dont remember what filters i used either lol it was kinda late last night hehe ;o) but i think i used texture preserving smooth and the first i did was deinterlace. Twice, the two different ones (even and odd?), pasted one as a new layer and blended 50% (dissolve). Ah well... ;o) Have a great sunday !! Hugs, Jeroen

Thread: Am i weird... | Forum: Photography
I like it, but then... im weird too ;o) As for suggestions, try to focus on the sun then move your cam to whatever composition you want. The sun will be better (smaller, not so bloppy lol) and the rest will be silhouettes. In the mist that all you get anyway... silhouettes :o) If the image is too dark try focussing right next to the sun... Jeroen

And... i already was pretty impressed with nature but i find it even more impressing every day since im spending so much time in it :o) Have fun shooting and keep walking ;o) Jeroen
