That's unreal for games.I'm going to half to rethink the way I think about game meshes.
still think ryse went a little crazy with the polycount.

time stamp ya can see the wiremesh.
Thank you for the link. Every day I am more convinced that game engines (assuming that you can still apply such a reductive labeling to these beasts) are the real future of CGI and everything else is a technological dead end. B.t.w., it is refreshing to see another example that the I-hate-realism crowd is a tiny minority in a sea of people sanely salivating for ever improving rendering quality and details.
Thread: Why are you still using V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yet sadly I'm discovering less V4 content in the store in favor of DS Items.. So a plea to any vendor reading this... Please do not abandon the V4 consumers. Not asking you to give up creating DS products, but how difficult is it to offer a V4 version at the same time?
V4 + G1/G2 can share the maps effort provided that you add the requirement for the user to have bought the appropriate UV layouts. In any other case it is a complete duplication of effort.Does twice the work bring twice the revenues? Stonemason thinks not, since he has completely dropped Poser specific support.

There are plenty of photoreal Poser and DAZ Studio renders around. I am talking about real photoreal, not the many Reality/LuxRender renders you see around with melted butter looking hair and skin so glossy that it looks like PVC plastic.
I wasn't talking about Poser/DAZ Studio "photoreal" (with quotes), I was talking about GCSociety (without quotes) photoreal.

chaecuna cool render
I don't see a renderosity/google gallery of yours.do you have a gallery some where ?
how much did that render cost to make ?
ScareCrow if you made cool renders of Roxie like chaecuna's render you would win Roxie a lot of fans.

It is not mine, I reposted an image from DAZ forums. I am studying how to attain such gorgeous results. Pumeco, jesters place was to entertain the court during parties, not to interrupt serious meetings.

I only asked to read the title of this page, nothing more, mothing less.
I get warm nor cold about what figure you use, as the birds outside will keep whisling anyway.
This thread is open to all V4 users, provided that they use it in Poser. Anybody who follows a different workflow (Studio, export to Blender or anything else) is explicitly not welcome. Do you see my utterly surprised expression? Bye bye.

Not mine, mind you, I am just reposting.
It is the most realistic render of a digital human I ever saw outside of the professional arena.
A good example of how groundbreaking is the Studio 4.8 Genesis 3 combo.

it is Smith Micro Systems responsibility to provide good quality content for use in poser. If they cannot do that for whatever reason, then they need to create a facility, an environment for vendors and artists to provide that. If they cannot do that either, then they need to create a facility, an environment to adopt existing good quality figures in their software. If they can do none of that, then I just don't see how poser can cope in this market.
Thumb up.

you're so wrong you just divided by zero.
The only appropriate response to several posts in this page.
Thread: Should Vendors be forced to diversify? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wouldn't incentives for diversification be a better approach. "We will give a higher commission for such and such content so that we can have a larger cross section of content".
At least this idea makes sense: commissions inversely proportional to content availability.

Just like how Autodesk doesn't create any significant content on their own, which is why no one would ever consider using Maya, Softimage or 3ds Max, amirite?
And I suppose "only works with old characters" is true, so long as one defines "old" to mean "more than a month ago".There are many legit reasons to gripe about Poser. These...not so much.
I am fascinated why people seem to think that the company developing the software must also be providing the content to go with it, something I've seen people on both sides of the DAZ/Poser line seem to assume is some basic rule of the universe.
You forget that Autodesk users know how to create content by themselves while most Poser users don't. Even then, you might explain me how shop like Turbosquid exist and prosper.

She's a pricey toy for being free. The basic necessary morphs like the expressions and other body morphs are broken up into three separate packs that retail for 20 dollars each. Then there is the Victoria 7 morph and other characters. She needs new hair and clothes. Of course, we cannot forget the poses. I could buy a utility that will transfer Genesis 2 morphs. My wallet shrinks even as I type this.
G3F uses bones for expression so there are no expression morphs. Expression and in general poses require nothing more than a getting a plugin called "elbow grease". It is very versatile addon and it is program-agnostic too. I successfully use it every day. Highly recommended. G2 clothing and hair can move over directly, V4 and G1 items require to move first to G2 and then to G3. The previously mentionned "elbow grease" plugin works also for this part.
Freebies are quickly pouring in, see for example DsCreative July issue and ShareCG.
You can start by just getting the face morphs, everything else is strictly optional.

What are you talking about?
System Requirements are here: http://www.daz3d.com/daz_studio
They have not changed.
There is a Knowledge Base Article, where a Customer asked what the best system for running DAZ Studio is, and that one says things like 32GB of Ram will help, but it is in no way required.
Thankfully my 6GB main box and my 4 GB notebook did not get the memo.
