There's a good tutorial on this at Brycetech...Thread: Remark about the Bryce Challenge | Forum: Bryce
Intersting that this discussion occurs this month... The challenge this month specifically stated that it would lend itself to use of poser type figures (perhaps more than some in the past). My entry this month uses many elements modeled in Bryce, one Poser character, and a few elements modeled in 3DStudioMax. The ability to use all of these elements together is a strength of Bryce. Bryce is great for outdoor scenes, but it's great for many other things also. Based on the way the voting has gone for the past few months (and the images that I've voted on), I'd hate to see the voting split based on "artistic" and "use of Bryce" categories. Both end up hard to define. Someone could model a huge building in Bryce but someone else may think that it was modeled in another program and not consider that "use of Bryce" simply because it's not an outdoor landscape scene. I really enjoy the idea of the contest and have learned a lot from the images that I have entered. Sometimes I've used them to develop a new technique that I'm trying to learn... Thanks to everyone for having a contest section and for realizing that it only improves all of our abilities to participate.
Thread: susanna plug in for poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Go to the Bryce forum and search for Susanna. You'll also find a comparisions between that and natural pose, both of which import poser animations into Bryce. Susanna is $49, Natural Pose is $99 (I think that's right...)
Thread: How big are your screens? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't like to scroll on most web site (horizonatlly), but Renderosity is an exception. In the galleries, I don't mind a picture that causes the right nav bar to be off of the screen (and to have to scroll to get to it). I finally bumped up from 800x600 on my main computer, and found working in Poser much easier with the increased desktop landscape... In Bryce, however the work window size is dependant on the resolution of the image that you're working on, so there is still a lot of wasted screen space... Just some thoughts about resolution
Thread: "World Builder " is Bryce killer?? | Forum: Bryce
The animation does look good... Obviously more and more move toward this type of thing with many 3D render packages going toward import of Poser figures... I wish that I could see more of the way that the water interracts with the import... That kind of physics modeling is not really available in Bryce at all, but requires quite a bit of specialized modeling. In fact, that's not really available anywhere for such a low price (3D Max plugins, perhaps but thats $$$). Anyway, it will be good to watch technology offer us more and more great tools!
Thread: Looks like Lara Croft Tomb Raider??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the questions about the presentation... I used an animated Lara Croft figure as an aid in teaching a class at a Christian youth rally last week. It really did a great job of catching the teen's attention! The presentation is too big for the web, but I had some stills that I used in the intro in a "trailer" type setup. I'll post them to the gallery and try to post the hair texture tonight also.
Thread: Help! Poser Pro Pack with 3dsMax 4 or 3.1 does not work | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
After you load the pz3 file, you'll only have a box, then you can click in the window, or (my preference) use the keyboard entry rollout to actually create the instance. The box will still be seen in some views, but will not render. I've still had some problems with some textures even with the new service release, but generally this package works ok.
Thread: Church (W.I.P.) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was looking for furniture for the inside of a church building recently, and found a relative lack of items availabe. If people were going to populate the inside of this beautiful church building with furniture, what would you want or need? I'm thinking on starting work on a collection of church furniture.

I have a lot of experience with this model as she was the center of almost 5 minutes of animation that I recently did for a presentation. The boot problem is easy. Simply parent the boots to the shins and make the feet invisible. (actually, you probably don't have to make the feet invisible, but it's easier this way) I there is a lot of interest, I created a hair texture for the included hair.
Thread: Fighting with textures... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In Deep Paint are you using the projection mode? In the regular mode (non-projection) it is still a nightmare, but in projection mode it is quite a bit easier. You'll still have to be very patient, but sometimes in projection mode when you get it close you can use a smudge tool on the seam to even things up a bit.

Thread: How to export to Bryce with texture | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

The best tutorial about this out there is http://www.robinwood.com/PoserGoodies/PoserSet.html. This one recommends importing the textures into Bryce first - it ends up working very well especially if you need to import the same character but in different poses over and over. Saves a lot of time. Good luck! ChrisThread: May Challange Voting Time | Forum: Bryce

Thanks to everyone for the tips! I'm using both techniques and just need to do a bit more tweaking... Great advice! Thanks!
