Use it for contract graphic artist work and for making holiday, bday cards for family and friends.... Cant make a lot of money but then again can make enough to stay at home and work with proper contacts. I usually receive an autocad drawing - flat - and client wants to animate with a foreground character extolling? its virtues as it works. Carrera is the good in-between program I use from autocad2k to poser.

Yes, and it definitely is faster doing it this way - even faster than using the pboost utility - if you have the hd room. I got a 120 gig on sale at officemax for $99 [w/rebates] and another ide controler for a blank pci (dont notice diff between mb ide and controller) slot and totally dedicated it to daz, pw, renderosity, etc. for all my 3d (bryce, carrera and poser are main ones) and the speed is great! Tried doing the same with my old machine as 3d server but the lan connection is just 2 slow (intel built in 100mps lan hard cabled).

I have a disk totally dedicated to different libraries for p5 (ie: house and outdoors, my creations, v3, mike, etc.) and have found that when I save a file and exit - it loads the last folder that i was using and not the p5 folder when next I start.

I have a p4 1.8 w/512m 64m video card on old machine and limited harddrive for paging mem - so bought a new machine with tons of harddrive [P4 2.8 intel] w/1g mem 128m video card and the difference in High Detail Rendering is night and day - the difference in standard default rendering is just seconds.

Lots of memory and free harddisk is imperative on any 3d program so far as I can tell. I have purchased many machines from http://www.cyberpowerpc.com and other than being greedy and NOT getting an intel motherboard (wanted to overclock - switched to intel mb!) to go with intel chip - have not had any problem and their prices are pretty darn good....

Good luck moving to pc - I know my best friend finally made the move and the first few months were continual headache for her ('specially when she found her mac software wouldnt work on pc) but now she wont move from pc and she is a college prof in liberal arts arena [artist]- so being pc bound isn't 2 bad ;-)

The updates (think up to SR2.1) for P5 makes it so that you do not need to get an unlock. I bought new machine also with newer-faster-larger harddrive then did install, did all updates (both for machine and P5) and was able to begin working with no problem on new machine.

I use it to create flash animations (dont bother with the flash render - just png it and import) for Ecards for family-friends and to earn money to $$$ [DAZ RDNA MP] do illustrations for training CDs.

hmm, that is funny as I just figured out that in carrera - my file was being corrupted by Remove Unused [anything]. Your system resources may be used up by the time that you save - what I do is save each step (addin, position, set parent) of creation as a different name. Then every once in awhile do an open at step - if good - save to the real figure file. Make sure you have vmem maxed and plenty of hard disk 2. I have been making around 10meg+ files like this and not had the corrupted file in P5 [yet ;-) knocking on wood]. (sys is xppro, 2.8, 1gigmem,vmem dedicated hd and 120gig ntsf hd dedicated just to ppp and p5 (can u tell p5 justified new machine..)). Good luck as that starting over with project really sucks - lost my mobile rough terrain crane from autocad 4 times before I figured out that the Remove Unused stuff in carrera was corrupting the files I was saving! Wierd part was - eovias response was same as cl "save more often". Another help[less] desk :-(

My 2 cents... I apologize for not saying thank you long ago for your product - It is worth way more than it costs ;-) and is very helpful. As to curious labs - we all know that help[less] desks are useless at 97% of the software companies - perhaps the writers of PWizard, Tailor and/or Pboost could give you a contact name? What do you do about the standard body versus a real anime body? or are we looking at another platinum purchase? I have tried many bodies but not getting any luck at looking anime... Any ideas?

Celeron is best if just doing spreadsheet, word type stuff. Would go with Intel with Intel board (no overclocking to speak of, but unless you can basically build your own computer - you dont want to deal with overclocking). If you are comfortable with buying online - I have bought over 20 computers from http://www.cyberpowersystem.com/ and have not had any problems except when I strayed to non-intel motherboards to overclock! Prices are very good. Would definitely spend the money on possible 2nd monitor and definitely memory... My 1.8 on Intel motherboard with 512mem is almost as fast as my 2.8 with 1.gig mem. Of course, using P4 on 1.8 and P5 on 2.8 so a bit different software usage... Good luck

If you mean the things like ears, nose, body fat, thin, etc type morphs - means you don't have the properties dialog window open. select part or body that you want to use morphs and leftclick Object in menu at top and then left click Properties - this should open the dialog Properties and the morph dials will appear. Otherwise - screenshot would be needed. Good luck!
