Subject: Is this just for fun?

hello everybody, I am very new to Poser and to this community. A very basic question comes to my mind after browsing through this community. Are people actually buying stuff, like cloth for poser models? And when they do, are you guys buying it for personal use (just for fun), or are you using the 3d Poser stuff for projects which you are assigned to and eventually get paid after all. So, is it more a hobby or a business for the people buy 3d stuff? Which program do you use when creating cloth for Poser? Like I said, I am new to all of this. And I do like some of the created cloth for the Poser models very much. Thanks for your help 3dsoft

Just a hobby for me... get paid... well... for work I did on a Poster, I got tickets for BBQ cook-off ( with free Beer), does that count? ;) And yes, I buy way too much!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Poser and please leave all thoughts of a large bank account behind :) 1. you will soon find your hard drive filled to over-flow with Poser: Textures, Props, Figures, clothes, etc. 2. You will find yourself "going without", to make sure you have enough money to spend on your Poser Purchases (not to mention all the wonderful Free Stuff) In other words - Poser is an Addiction! But its just Soooo much fun! ladynimue

People are indeed buying stuff.. loads of stuff :o) and some in here even amke money with Poser. Some use it for work and a lot of us use it for fun. It's a great hobby. VERY addictive. And in time very expensive too L But, as ladynimue said: Soooo much fun! Oh and welcome to the madhouse ;o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Use it for contract graphic artist work and for making holiday, bday cards for family and friends.... Cant make a lot of money but then again can make enough to stay at home and work with proper contacts. I usually receive an autocad drawing - flat - and client wants to animate with a foreground character extolling? its virtues as it works. Carrera is the good in-between program I use from autocad2k to poser.

oops should add in that hubbys paycheck pays the bills (is only fair - I did it for years!) so money I make is enough to pay for last childs college and my software/hardware playtoys. Would not be able to make house note if not for hubby $$$. ;-) Just didnt want to mislead (probably earn around $15k year for last 4yrs but write off earnings with software and hardware upgrades...).

I'm earning the majority of my subsistence from royalties on academic graphics work, which is partly Poser and partly programming. But I'm a crabby old bachelor, with very low expenses. A family breadwinner couldn't make it on this amount.
