Don't suppose there is a script that would rename all of this? That would be good if there were and also I like using BVHs but there's just not that many that I've been able to find. Plus when I load them the figure usually walks about 10 feet above the groud - easily fixable in the y-axis but it would be nice if there was some sort of universal BVH conversion to Poser figures......

Thread: Real bad question - ref poses | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Universal Poses? sometimes I apply by accident a P7 pose to a P5 - It kind of works - depending on the pose but it in no way looks as good as apply a P7 to a P7. Is there a step I am missing or is this just supposed to be automatic and I get what I get?? tks

Thread: How to create a narrow spotlight beam?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Maybe......what value would you use to have the width be wider at the beginning of the beam? Also, is there a limit to the number of spotlights within a scene that can render volumetrice effects? I have TWO. One will render and the other will not......

okay thanks. To get the beam to come out of the prop flashlight I am having to place the actual spot pretty far back so tha the width of the spot matchs the diameter of the flashlight end. I wish than intial angle could be made wider - as is I have a light well behind a prop that does not cast shadows...is there and eaier way that I am not thinking of here?

Thread: How do you save a Vue render with a transparent background? | Forum: Vue
I am creating images for animation and would like to load them directly into my editor as a string of images. I am dealing with dozens of images at a time.
If I create the alpha channel all I can do is use this in my editor a s a mask so that that I can composite the image onto something else - but that is an extra step that does not provide the results you get with an image of a transparent background in a PNG - it's already done for you there!
So, with Esprit I have limitations and I can always use Poser - just trying to handle/match certain lighting situations in one program. With the ability to create transparent PNGs in VUE that would be great - but Esprit just doesn't seemt to have this feature. Thanks for all of your suggestions...

THanks for the Tut but I have Esprit. First, saving as PSD is not an option. Second I can save as PNG but no where does it it have a check box to embed alpha. So what I think I would get is the tree on a black background. Unless I'm missing something.....I thought this was going to be what I needed until I got to the last step about checking that box that doesn't exist.... :(

Yes. You can save PNG files but I don't see a way to make it with a transparent background. Would love a TUT. tks

Thread: Animation using Conforming clothes..... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks. so I should use the whole 60 frames to simulate? I notice there is a p5morphable skirt for Judy but I cannot make it parent to her......don't know what the deal is but it won't conform or parent to P5 Judy.
Anyway, this skirt is a P4 Dynamice Skirt that has been Wardrobe Wizarded to P5. I looks good in some poses but when you start moving Judy around that is the problem. So any issue with making it work since I used WW on it?

In Esprit - I don't see the option to save a PSD. Yes ths is a bummer given that I do all of may animations as images....I am having to pick between Poser and VUE depending upon what I am animating- sometimes I do the object only in Poser to get the PNG with the transarency and depending upon whether I need the object to cast shadows or interact withe scene then I may render from VUE. Generally it is faster for me to render in Poser as a transparency to lay over a VUE scene. Generally.

I have Vue 6 Esprit - all I am seeing is object anti-aliasing. Is this only available in other versions?
I have the noise issue too but corrected it by removing the bumps on the terrrain mats AND upping the quality a bit. Doesn't go away entirely but looks much better.

Thread: Rendering Shadows only for figures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have 72 frames of this so that is not workable.....I have found a way using shadow catch in the materials room - it gives me what I want but I have dozens of mats that would need this turn on for. Don't suppose you would know of a script that would do this? There is a wacro setup but it only affects the current mat.....just like checking the box --- surely there is a way to apply to all mats....

Thread: Rendering Shadows only for figures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes that works EXCEPT it creates the shadows on a white background. Since I will be compositing I prefer to have this on a transparent background like you get when you render to images (PNG). I can do it this way but then I will be forced into chromakeying out the white background. Is there a way to have the shadows ONLY without the background? My settings are Render Over:current BG shader with the Shadows Only box checked. tks.

Thanks! How best to do the atmophere transparency? I can't seem to get it to where the halo effect will be there but without turnning everything else blue - the color of the amtmoshere. I'm sure there is a refraction setting or something that would work well with this....
