In case this message thread gets lost, I am sending this to you, Audre by instant message too... I am sorry, but is our on line store a "any sort of money making scheme" ?? So many folks have on line stores... and my personal art reflects my store... if I should remove the web ring, please tell me.. this is not really clear... I wish someone here would visit my index page and just tell me if my joining your web ring is not allowed, with my index page set up... please? I can't believe that no one else has a link to their commercial products on art sites.. but I will certainly remove the web ring if it is not right to post... I truly want to abide by the rules, but I would like to join your web ring too... Thank you, Lyne http://www.lynescreations.com

Thread: So..how do I start a gallery here? | Forum: Vue
OH, thanks, Guitta, and Mike.. this is very easy! :) I don't think I will even upload an image a day.. but will at lest get my gallery started.. I think I may have to "trim" them, though.. ever noticed how rich in color depth vue images are... so they are much larger than Bryce in KB size! I think I remember reading there is a limit to no more than 512KB for a single image... I guess I can check the other images in the gallery and see... mine are kinda large yet... Thanks! Lyne

Thread: New/Old Orange orchard from my vue "bak" file!! :) | Forum: Vue
Mike, if you go to my orange orchard image, and click on the link in the text below, you go to a secondary page with the whole crazy story about my non-sinking orange trees, and how the vue problem was cured! :) It was very odd... I thought they were like that since I bought them... then suddenly I could drag them below the ground plane... after a windows reload.. (from another problem)... after reloading I used my computer for a while...then opened vue.. and while vue was opening, I got a message to insert the win98 disk...! I went..huh!?!? And then windows said the "the file you have is newer are you sure you want to replace"...and I clicked NO for like 5 times... (while vue is half loaded behind all this, waiting)... and then when it was done NOT adding said files... Vue finished loading.. then I suddenly discovered that the orange tree WOULD go below the ground plane!!! How weird is that!?!? LOL!!! Lyne

The higher the render setting, the smoother the image will be... "final" is the first setting, which I sometimes use when I have a lot of trees, grass.. things I want to be sharper...but you can go to higher settings for a nice smooth look.. in fact some settings give what is sometimes called a "painterly" look... very much like a soft painting! It also depends on how much "haze" is in the vue image.. very easy to turn up or down for softer or sharper looks.. and I think the SKIES in Vue are the most realistic of any program!!! Hi beryld, I love Vue 4... had 3 (I am on a PC by the way, a pretty high end one).... and the only thing that I do have to do is turn the open gl off... (that is the thing that makes solid, shaded objects)...but otherwise, especially if you use poser.. Vue has (in my humble opinion, and knowing I have bryced for YEARS) sooo much to offer... I jumped right in and started... there is plenty of help around here, too... I much prefer the lighting..the default lighting of the various vue atmospheres to Bryce light... I may move the sun around a bit... add a teeny light sometimes but otherwise vue does it all for me... well, I could rave on and on... ;) Lyne Lyne's Creations

Wonderful, and your English is fine! I always thank people from other countries who have made the effort to learn English! I only know one language... and you have learned mine, so now we (all of us here) can communicate! This is a big Thanks! :) I really like your picture, and your new way to place some plants on the 'forest floor'! What a good idea!! Lyne

Thread: A story of a non-sinking vue orange tree... | Forum: Vue
Thanks, Varian, for your kind words on both... Wouldn't it be neat if we could scale the trunks of the trees in vue!? But oh well.. I know I will be first in line if and when they bring out a new add on vegitation package anyway! Most of the items are really great! (just the orange tree trunk and the cherry tree trunks are oddly fat).... but (shhhh!) I will take a vue tree over the bryce 5 trees anyday! ;) Lyne

It would be interesting to know how new your version of vue is?? I wonder if the later versions being sold have that thing in them that reports to e on... like poser pro pack had for a while, till folks got really tired of it? Lyne

Thread: Arg why is Vue being so slow | Forum: Vue
I too want to know where the hide thing is.. might be usefull... I also have an AMD 1000 and 512 MB ram..and the GForce 2 card with DDR ram...got that fast ram (hope I got the letters right...that fast new stuff :) on the mother board.. and I STILL have to turn off the open gl or it is just tooo slow, with all the updating ever time I make a change or move an object the teeniest bit.. Bryce 4 loves the open gl mode now...so I am pretty sure it is just the way vue 4 is written... still love vue though... even in wireframe! :) Lyne
