Thread: Alien Queen and Jack Skellington Removed from Freebies.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No ynsaen, I wouldn't. I also wouldn't do actions liable to reduce the number of merchants and artists posting here. That does sound very counter productive. Treating suppliers, which is what merchants are, and free advertisers, which is what posting artists are, in a 'f*** you and the horse you rode in on' way is not a particularly bright idea. (Even if the horse, or pony, is pink!) Having to say "Yeah, we had some really good merchants and artists here, but now they're not." is not a good way to impress people in the business world. Interesting that the admins running the different departments all seem to be acting in the same way.

Thank you for the information ynsaen. The point is why do artists and freebe donators have to hear it from you? Why no announcement? What is so wrong with announcing it? Thank you for pointing out that the 'usage' argument is a weak one. I agree with you. Legally the site owners/administrators are totally in the right. Not very polite though is it?

Fair enough ynsaen, but why so heavy handed? The police, when enforcing speed restrictions will often warn people who are a few mph over the limit. Why no warning to the people who were admittedly violating TOS that it was going to be enforced vigourously from now on? It does seem somewhat churlish to say the least to hit on people who have done much more for the site than I ever have. I've just bought stuff here. Surely some politeness at least is owed to those who have helped the site over the years by providing freebies and posted to the gallery? Or maybe not? It is after all a business and if someone gets in the way of the bottom line then the hell with them. The way this site is run is entirely a matter for the owners and administrators, but it's not a terribly good selling point is it?

With respect ynsaen, that isn't JUST what they're doing. When the TOS has not been enforced it could be argued that the TOS had become modified by usage. To start rigorously enforcing it is quite within the admin's rights, but hardly polite or reasonable to do so without warning. Or was there warning, if so I may have missed it. It seems the admins are being extremely closed mouthed about it. Will this policy be extended to 'fan art' in the galleries? People need a definite Yes or No. Come on admins, clue people in on what's happening please.

Redfern, will you be asked to remove your fan art, or will you just have it pulled and a black mark added to your record? As there still has been no site wide announcment who knows WHAT is going to happen? Come on admins, clue people in on what's happening please.

Why the heavy handed approach? Surely people could have been PM'd to remove their 'offensive material' if the administrators didn't want to make a site-wide announcement. Why they haven't is another puzzling question. Are TPTB trying to show someone that they can play hardball? Is someone having a bad hair month? I'd be interested in some answers.
Thread: Walk Cycles for Mechs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My wife does drawn anim, and says "Are the following comments of any use?" Perhaps an extra 6 to 8 frame 'hold' on each foot after it has gone down followed by toe movement to suggest the effort of moving so heavy a vehicle, ie digging in. This may require a slightly deeper knee bend and ankle flex as the foot is still implying the maintenence of ballance. A slide can usually be corrected by placing a longer pause on the time that the foot is down. She is also inclinded to think that a little more body lurch would add to the realism of the motion. If you check your dope sheet the total time the foot is in contact with the ground should be more than one third of the whole cycle and with a heavy vehicle perhaps more. This is of course assuming that fairly fine toe movements are possible otherwise you end up with a Godzilla like thud! Hope this is of some help.

"Why not blame the Puritan Forefathers that formed this County called the US of A, from wanting to get away from all of the Freaky Sex that goes on in Europe?" Jack D Kammerer I always knew we made the right descision getting rid of that bunch of freaky dissidents!

Hi Ironbear, nope, never would have believed it either. I'm just sitting here with some popcorn in one hand and a box of schadenfreude in the other. "Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean everybody ISN'T out to get you."

Saro has a good and valid point. If he doesn't wish to have nudity on his screen for whatever reason it should be his choice. I have posted elsewhere that if artists do post nudity without checking the appropriate button the moderators should pick it up and censure the artist for carelessness. The protection filters should be the reponsability of the site's moderators and they should enforce them. If this were carefully moderated there should be no offence caused. Rotica gives the option to set personal gallery preferences very precisely and they are moderated carefully.

Referring back to the comment that the poster (ynsaen) who expressed surprise that artist were resistant to change. If he checks out his art history he will find this has always been so. The outrage at Manet's 'Olympia' and the general resistance to the nascent Impressionist movement came largely from such places as the Royal Acadamy and the French Salons, leaders of the artistic community. By the time the Impressionists were established there was something new to cavil at in the Fauves; and then of course you get Cubism, etc, etc. Established artists have generally found a formula that works and any change or innovation threatens their economic niche. Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.

There is a serious debate concerning viable alternatives to PayPal just starting over at Renderotica. Why not go and put in your two cents?
