Hi guys, Thanks for your replies. I've downloaded MPE and as Doug mentioned, it crashes. I can't believe that such an obviously needed feature such as channeling bump mapping from p4 to p5 to the correct channel was overlooked. A few things I have observed in using p5: bump mapping comes in on the 'gradient bump' channel. you can disconnect and reconnect the node to 'bump mapping' manualy. If you do a p4 engine render, the bump mapping does not look so great. (I only want a p4 style render, I don't use firefly) If you use the p4 engine render with the "ignore shaders" option checked, the bump mapping looks perfect. (after you've changed them to the 'bump map' channel) If you leave the figure as-is, and don't change the bump mapping from gradient channel to bump map channel, and turn on the "ignore shaders" option, the bump mapping looks perfect during a render, however, if you touch any of the figures materials with the eyedrop picker in the material editor, or save the scene, exit poser, come back into poser and render again (with the ignore shaders button picked), the bump mapping will dissappear. In other words, once the scene is saved, it is saved with p5 shaders intact. This sucks. All I wanted was to be able to open my p4 scenes and figures and render with p4 engine 'AND' have the ability to 'scroll' down the libraries and access external runtime folders. To be quite honest, I'm dissappointed that after 4 service packs and the advent of Poser 6 coming out this year, that simple things like "being able to open an older version file and render without having to change anything" isn't an option. You may now return to you regularly scheduled programming... Davo

There is also a Vicky 3 reduced resolution figure at Daz3d. I believe the morphs are already loaded. http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=2692
Thread: a bit odd, but I need it bad.... p4 nude male textures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi all, Thanks so much for your input! I got the 2 textures in the marketplace and I'll give them a try. I also found at: http://port3d.com/freebies/index.php?artistid=1 a cool utility that remaps the p4 male to take michael 2 maps, so that helps even more. SeanMartin, I'm looking for good male textures for the face/head, maybe some black, asian, ethnic p4nude male textures. I'm also trying to create some surrly (sp?) looking men that you'd find on a pirate submarine working for a bad guy boss. The reason I'm looking for these old p4 textures is because with a uniform and good head texture, the p4 male works perfectly for scenes were you need several guys. Being low-res, the p4 nude males works out great.

Actually, I just figured out (thank you Kuroyme) that corel photopaint will create a quicktime vr file, I'll do some experiments and see how that turns out. Thanks for your input guys! Davo

I do conforming figures once in a while, it's not that difficult. You must be sure that the group name for each part you make is the exact same name as the poser figures body part name (the poser figure you are modeling around). You must build the part in rhino in the exact correct location, so you should convert the figures obj file from the runtime/geometry folder, not export it from poser then convert it. After you have all your armor pieces named correctly, you can use Kattman's utility to turn it into a confroming figure by using the source cr2 file of the figure you modelled it around and applying it to your obj file, that's it, very easy.

Really? can you give me a link to the thread? I hope this will not discourage Zew3d from making these great products.

Fantastic, it's on my list, along with all the stuff I don't already have of yours!! I love this clother program, works like a charm. Little Dragon, good idea about the displacement mapping to add a even more depth to the zew products.

Thanks for the kind words and comments, sorry I didn't get back sooner, it's been a hellish week at work.
To answer a few questions:
This set, as well as all my forthcoming sets that require instrumentation will require the SFCS equipment pack to set up your chairs, consoles etc. That was the reason I made the equipement set, so people could design their own setups the way they need them. It also allows me to work on my construction sets faster without having to bog myself down with redundant modeling.
I'm trying to get a few people to work on alternative texture sets that are more grungy/rusty/used look and feel for the interiors.
I enjoyed Starship Troopers very much.
You can probably fit 2 of these rigs inside the LVC1 cargo vessel if you put them side by side facing toward the sides, it won't fit out the rear door without scaling either the shuttle or the vehicle. This vehicle is rather large, that little stairs in the front will fit mike 3 and still have a steering/command center on either side of the stairs. I wanted it big enough to put stuff inside like computers and radar stations or weapons and stuff like that.
This image attached showes the MCV inside the shuttle cargo bay.
Hope this helps,
Davo
